Workshop on Recent Developments in Additive Manufacturing of Bioimplant materials and its performance & applications | NMAMIT

Dr. R. Vijay, Scientist-G, Head, Centre for Nanomaterials, ARCI, Hyderabad inaugurated a five-day workshop on "Recent developments in Additive Manufacturing of Bioimplant materials and its performance & applications" organized by the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and funded by SERB, New Delhi on 11th July 2023.

The event commenced with a keynote lecture by Dr. R. Vijay. Dr. Shrinivasa Rao B. R, Vice Principal & CoE, warmly welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. S. Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor of Nitte University presided over the function. Guest of Honor Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President, Technical Education, Nitte (DU), graced the event.

Dr. Srinivasa Pai P, HoD, provided an overview of the workshop and highlighted its significance. Dr. Vijay stressed the importance of the workshop's topic and the need for India to become self-sufficient.

Dr. Gopal Mugeraya emphasized the significance of teaching, learning, and research in a technical institution during his address. Dr. Moodithaya in his presidential remarks, shared insights and vision of the University. Dr. Vijeesh, Convener of the workshop, proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr. Joseph Kuruvilla, an outstanding scientist from IISST, Thiruvananthapuram, was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Well-known experts, scientists, academicians, industrial personnel from IITs, NITs, DRDO, private industries, doctors/clinicians from KSHEMA, NUCSER and ABSMIDS delivered talks on various topics. The workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange and fruitful discussions between participants from different backgrounds, fostering collaborations and advancements in the additive manufacturing of bioimplants. 35 participants from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu attended the workshop.
