Ar. Bindu Malhotra, with 29 years of experience, is working as a Professor and Head of the Architecture Department at Nitte School of Architecture, Planning and Design from June 2019. She is also IIC President and has undergone Innovation Ambassador training (Advanced Level) conducted by MoE's Innovation Cell & AICTE.

She is a double graduate with bachelor's in architecture and bachelor's in law from Punjabi university, Punjab. Her master's in urban design is from BMSSA, Bengaluru. Her major areas of competence and interest are architectural design, urban design, heritage and conservation.

She has remarkable industry and academic experience across the various states of India. She had the privilege of working with Late Ar. Nimish Patel and Ar. Parul Javeri in their ABHIKRAM office, leading her to develop great interest in heritage and conservation projects. In her extensive career, she has been working on various plans and strategies towards the growth and success of the organization. She is a strong believer of teamwork and handling challenges in stride. She is an effective leader with strong analytical and relationship building skills.

She has been part of many faculty development programs on sustainability, heritage and design pedagogy. Also, she has been certified for many NPTEL courses which has provided her with valuable insights into various fields. She is an ardent traveler and has great exposure to various cultures, architecture, and people. She also takes classes on Yoga, meditation, and moral values. She also has command in the financial field.

Her research and publications are mostly in sustainability, conservation, restoration, and urban design as her research interests focus primarily on restoration, adaptive re-use and conservation of our rich cultural heritage. She has presented papers in National and International Conferences. She is Heading the CIC (Collaborative IncubaƟon Design cell) at NiƩe SAPD Since 2021. Kamlesh Pohekar is an architect and urban designer. As a professional he is active in field for last 18 years where he has gained varied experience. He has been working on urban planning projects which involved setting up of greenfield urban centres as well as making development plans for cities in India and abroad. He was also involved in projects for capacity building, urban governance and public participation related to urban planning. In field of urban design, he was involved in projects for improvement of public places and overall built environments in the cities. In architectural practice he has got and experience of working on projects of different types and scales ranging from industries like pharmaceutical, food processing, aerospace, precision manufacturing, research labs, commercial, residential and institutional etc.

With 22+ years of experience in design, training and consulting Sudarshan works as an Associate Professor at NSAPD. Sudarshan's passion for ethnography and design research comes from his behavioral consulting work which he carried out for over a decade. He enjoys teaching design as he loves the unique approach of design in not only solving problems but also in the way they (problems) are perceived. This unique approach of design is what he explores through design pedagogy and is pursuing his research interests in design pedagogy and design ethnography. He brings to the NITTE design program his experience in entrepreneurship comes from being a Founding Faculty at a design school and Director at Icon Consulting, Mumbai, and Thought Bridge Consulting, Bangalore, respectively. The offerings of these consulting companies were human centric, design centric and business-performance oriented. Prof. Rohini is an Architect and an Environmental Planner, alumni of M.S. Ramaiah School of Architecture, Bangalore and School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (an Institution of National Importance under MoE, GoI) respectively. She's now pursuing her PhD in Environmental Planning at the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (an Institution of National Importance under MoE, GoI), which has been recognised as one of the Centre of Excellence in India. Her interests are regional planning, climate change, climate finance, environmental law and environmental justice.She has been a faculty at NitteSAPD since five years and has served under the Department of Architecture and now serves under the Department of Planning. Dr. Reshma Vilasan has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Planning at Nitte School of Architecture Planning & Design since December 4, 2023. Dr. Reshma Vilasan has published two SCI journal articles and presented at two international conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. 

Her experience as an Urban Planner at the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has provided her with valuable insights into disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation strategies, which are integral components of ecological restoration planning. I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor, with a strong academic foundation and extensive industry experience. I hold a Master's degree in Sustainable Architecture from NIT Hamirpur, a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from VTU Belagavi, and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Annamalai University. I have also completed a basic course in Ornithology from BNHS Mumbai, further enhancing my understanding of wildlife.

With 7 years of industry experience, I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including large-scale residential developments, industrial buildings, and hospitality spaces. This practical experience is complemented by 4 years in academia, where I am dedicated to inspiring and guiding the next generation of architects.

I am deeply passionate about research in nature and wildlife-inclusive design in urban settings. My other areas of focus include natural building practices, climate-responsive architecture, alternative building materials, passive energy strategies, and permaculture. I am also deeply engaged in the study and documentation of culture and heritage, particularly traditional building techniques, and their application in contemporary design.
