Prof. Ar. Nanditha Nagaraj has been serving NSAPD since its inception. She brings fifteen years of industry experience and seven years of full-time teaching experience. Her specialization is in Landscape Architecture, and she actively practices sustainability in her architectural projects.

She has secured her degrees from prestigious universities: her undergraduate degree from BIT under Visvesvaraya Technological University, her postgraduate degree from UVCE under Bangalore University, and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at M.S. Ramaiah Research Centre under VTU. In addition, she is a qualified member of the Green Building Council (GBC), an IGBC-AP (Accredited Professional), and a LEED-GA (Green Associate). She is also a registered member of national professional bodies such as IIA and ISTE.

Since 2021, she has been heading the CIC (Collaborative Incubation Design Cell) at Nitte SAPD. She has successfully completed over sixty-five projects across the Nitte campus and its sister campuses in Bengaluru. Working on live projects has enabled students to gain hands-on experience and become industry-ready. Her strong practical knowledge and mentoring skills have helped her team win a national competition in collaboration with co-faculty members and students.

She has several publications in UGC-Care and JIIA journals and has presented papers at international conferences. She is dynamic and has been instrumental in organizing numerous seminars and workshops in the Department of Architecture and Planning.

Ar. Bindu Malhotra, with 29 years of experience, is working as a Professor and Head of the Architecture Department at Nitte School of Architecture, Planning and Design from June 2019. She is also IIC President and has undergone Innovation Ambassador training (Advanced Level) conducted by MoE's Innovation Cell & AICTE.

She is a double graduate with bachelor's in architecture and bachelor's in law from Punjabi university, Punjab. Her master's in urban design is from BMSSA, Bengaluru. Her major areas of competence and interest are architectural design, urban design, heritage and conservation.

She has remarkable industry and academic experience across the various states of India. She had the privilege of working with Late Ar. Nimish Patel and Ar. Parul Javeri in their ABHIKRAM office, leading her to develop great interest in heritage and conservation projects. In her extensive career, she has been working on various plans and strategies towards the growth and success of the organization. She is a strong believer of teamwork and handling challenges in stride. She is an effective leader with strong analytical and relationship building skills.

She has been part of many faculty development programs on sustainability, heritage and design pedagogy. Also, she has been certified for many NPTEL courses which has provided her with valuable insights into various fields. She is an ardent traveler and has great exposure to various cultures, architecture, and people. She also takes classes on Yoga, meditation, and moral values. She also has command in the financial field.

Her research and publications are mostly in sustainability, conservation, restoration, and urban design as her research interests focus primarily on restoration, adaptive re-use and conservation of our rich cultural heritage. She has presented papers in National and International Conferences. She believes that the mantra for success and happiness is to have a cheerful outlook in life and work towards solutions instead of problems.

Mr. Sudarshan Pandurang

With 22+ years of experience in design, training and consulting Sudarshan works as an Associate Professor at NSAPD. Sudarshan's passion for ethnography and design research comes from his behavioral consulting work which he carried out for over a decade. He enjoys teaching design as he loves the unique approach of design in not only solving problems but also in the way they (problems) are perceived. This unique approach of design is what he explores through design pedagogy and is pursuing his research interests in design pedagogy and design ethnography. He brings to the NITTE design program his experience in entrepreneurship comes from being a Founding Faculty at a design school and Director at Icon Consulting, Mumbai, and Thought Bridge Consulting, Bangalore, respectively. The offerings of these consulting companies were human centric, design centric and business-performance oriented. He graduated from IIT B in 1997 with a postgraduate degree (M.Sc.) in Applied Geology.

Kamlesh Pohekar is an architect and urban designer. As a professional he is active in field for last 18 years where he has gained varied experience. He has been working on urban planning projects which involved setting up of greenfield urban centres as well as making development plans for cities in India and abroad. He was also involved in projects for capacity building, urban governance and public participation related to urban planning. In field of urban design, he was involved in projects for improvement of public places and overall built environments in the cities. In architectural practice he has got and experience of working on projects of different types and scales ranging from industries like pharmaceutical, food processing, aerospace, precision manufacturing, research labs, commercial, residential and institutional etc.

He has been sharing his expertise from profession by being active in academics since 2013 and has been working at various positions at different institutions in Bangalore. He has been associated with NITTE School of architecture, planning and design since January 2024. He is an alumni of RV college of architecture (Visvesvaraya Technological University) and BKPS college of architecture, Pune (Pune University).

Dr. Reshma Vilasan has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Planning at Nitte School of Architecture Planning & Design since December 4, 2023. With a comprehensive academic background in Urban Planning, including a Ph.D. from the Architecture and Planning Department at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Dr. Reshma Vilasan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the academic community. Dr.Reshma Vilasan holds an M.Tech in Urban Planning from the Architecture and Planning Department at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad.

Dr. Reshma Vilasan has published two SCI journal articles and presented at two international conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. 

Her experience as an Urban Planner at the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has provided her with valuable insights into disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation strategies, which are integral components of ecological restoration planning. She has a proven track record of developing projects with disaster risk reduction potential and contributing to hazard vulnerability assessments.

Her research interests focus on creating sustainable and resilient communities through innovative planning practices, addressing the critical challenges posed by climate change and natural disasters.

Ar. Sumanta Patil is an Associate Professor at Nitte School of Architecture Planning and Design in Bengaluru, with over 20+ years of experience in the architectural field- 14 years of industry experience and 6 years in academia. I am a versatile designer with expertise in Architecture and Product Design, honed through academic training at IIT Guwahati. My career spans diverse architectural and interior design projects, where I have consistently demonstrated passion and innovation. Highlights include winning prestigious competitions like the NOKIA Confluence Competition (2013) and the Packinnova Contest by P&G (2012). I was also a finalist for the Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis (2009) and published my master’s thesis in the ICSEC 2013 conference proceedings in Bangkok. Beyond professional achievements, I take pride in mentoring students who have advanced their studies at leading international institutions such as IAAC University and the University at Buffalo. As a Board of Examinations member at Visvesvaraya Technological University, I actively contribute to shaping design education. My teaching journey includes exploring rapid wall technologies like GFRG and EPS (3D Panels), integrating cutting-edge methods into practice. I am also deeply interested in incorporating AI into Architecture and Design, pushing the boundaries of conventional approaches. Though teaching is not my primary profession, it is my true calling. Prof. Rohini is an Architect and an Environmental Planner, alumni of M.S. Ramaiah School of Architecture, Bangalore and School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (an Institution of National Importance under MoE, GoI) respectively. She's now pursuing her PhD in Environmental Planning at the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (an Institution of National Importance under MoE, GoI), which has been recognised as one of the Centre of Excellence in India.
