The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA) for admission to the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree Program.
NATA is an aptitude test that assesses a candidate’s aptitude for the field of Architecture through a variety of testing formats. It evaluates cognitive skills, visual perception, aesthetic sensitivity, logical reasoning, critical thinking and other abilities relevant to the study of Architecture.
Eligibility Criteria to Appear for NATA
Candidates who have:
- Passed or are appearing for the 10+2 examination with the subjects prescribed by the Council of Architecture.
- Passed or are appearing for a 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a subject.
Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year may also appear provisionally, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility requirements.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to BArch Program
Admission to the five-year BArch degree Program shall be as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Council of Architecture.
A candidate must have:
10+2 / Equivalent Examination
- Passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following:
- Chemistry,
Biology,
Technical Vocational subject,
Computer Science,
Information Technology,
Informatics Practices,
Engineering Graphics,
Business Studies - Secured at least 45% marks in aggregate.
OR
- Passed a 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
- Secured at least 45% marks in aggregate.
No direct lateral admission is permitted at any year, semester or stage of the BArch Program based on any other qualification.
Reservation and relaxation in qualifying marks for reserved categories, wherever applicable, shall be as per the norms of the relevant admission or counselling authority.
How to Apply?
Candidates can apply online through the official NATA portal.
The application process generally involves the following steps:

- Generate the required login credentials.
- Complete the online NATA application form.
- Fill in all mandatory details and upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

Candidates are advised to retain their admit card safely until completion of the admission process.
Examination
NATA is conducted as a computer-based aptitude test at designated examination centres.

Examination Day
