It is affiliated to Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru and situated in the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangaluru. Meritorious students get opportunity to visit Summer School at School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, USA and University of Gothenburg, Sweden during spring and autumn with scholarships covering tuition fees.

Students are employed in Government organizations, national and international Non- Government Organizations, United Nation Organization and its agencies like WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNOPS, UN Women, FAO etc. pharmaceuticals, insurance agencies, corporates and private sector organizations in themes of programme development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, quality assurance and research & development.
