About the Institution
Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences (NIAHS), set up in 2025, is a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. Situated in the well-facilitated Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, the institute aims to develop excellence in allied health education, research, and practice through its inter- disciplinary programs and student-focused learning environment.

A noted pathologist and
academician, Prof. Shetty has more than two decades of experience in clinical practice and medical
education. His contributions to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral training have influenced
the academic standards of healthcare education in the region.
Program Coordinator: Mrs Anshya Shankar Rai, MSc Psychology, Master in Hospital Administration
(MHA)
Mrs. Anshya Shankar Rai is the Program Coordinator (I/c) and Assistant Professor of the
MHAHSM program at Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences. She has an MSc in Psychology and a
Master's in Hospital Administration. Her research interests are leadership, healthcare strategy,
medical ethics, hospital planning, and public health communication. She has published research on
adolescent mental health and mindfulness and has undergone NABH standards training. She is also the
NSS Program Officer and a member of the Board of Studies for Allied Health Sciences.
Infrastructure & Learning Resources
MHAHSM students enjoy exposure to state-of-the-art classrooms, online learning platforms, a separate health administration lab, and learning experiences at Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, a 1200+ bed multispecialty teaching hospital. The hospital provides a rich clinical environment for hands-on learning in hospital operations, patient flow, quality systems, and health informatics.

A candidate seeking admission to the Master of Hospital Administration and Health Systems
Management (MHAHSM) shall have studied English as one of the principal subjects during the
tenure of the course and must have passed:
- A candidate seeking admission to the Master of Hospital Administration and Health Systems Management [MHAHSM] course must have qualified as a graduate in Medicine / AYUSH / Dentistry / Veterinary Sciences / Nursing / Public Health / Hospital Administration / Allied Health Sciences / Life Sciences / Biostatistics / Demography / Population Studies / Nutrition / Psychology / Anthropology / Biomedical Sciences / Biotechnology or any other bachelor’s degree preferably in science, recognized by UGC.
- Candidates with work experience in healthcare are highly desirable. Bachelor's degree shall be of a minimum three-year duration, recognized as equivalent by Nitte (Deemed to be University), with a minimum of 50% of marks (or equivalent grade).

Qualifications from foreign countries:
- Candidates with qualifications from educational institutions outside of India may be admitted to the program(s) subject to establishment of equivalence by the university. The Program Committee of Nitte (Deemed to be University) will evaluate and establish the eligibility of such candidates.
Admission Procedure
Candidates seeking admission to MHAHSM program are required to submit the Admission Enquiry form available on the homepage of www.nitte.edu.in or through the link, apply at info@nitte.edu.in.
On receipt of the same, the Admission Section will guide students with the process of registration and admission. Eligible students will be selected on the basis of educational qualifications, achievements and professional experience if any, relevant to the field of public health and personal / virtual interview.
