About the program
MSc (Clinical Embryology) is a full-time, in-campus academic program as part of Nitte Allied Health Sciences Faculty (NIAHS). It is housed within the premises of KSHEMA IVF- Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Centre, and Division of Clinical Embryology, a part of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru at Deralakatte Campus. KSHEMA IVF was established in December 2013 and was the first IVF Centre to be established in a Teaching Hospital in Mangaluru. It has state of the art facilities for modern assisted reproductive technology and dedicated training and research facilities for the MSc program.

Dean: Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty, MBBS, MD, FRCP(Glasg).
Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty is a distinguished pathologist and academician with more than two
decades of extensive experience in clinical practice and medical education. He holds an MBBS and MD
in Pathology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow [FRCP (Glasg)]. Prof.
Jayaprakash has been instrumental in shaping undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral training
programs. His academic leadership, commitment to excellence in pathology, and mentorship have made a
lasting impact on medical education and research. Prof. Jayaprakash is widely respected for his
scholarly contributions and dedication to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Infrastructure & Clinical Training
The Division of Clinical Embryology at NIAHS offers state of the art facilities for hands-on Clinical Embryology training:
- A fully equipped Andrology Training Lab.
- A fully equipped Embryology Training Lab with:
- RI Micromanipulator
- Narishige Micromanipulator
- Laminar air flows
- Box type culture incubators
- Cryopreservation facilities
Training is further enriched through clinical postings at KSHEMA-IVF, Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital, offering exposure to a wide spectrum of clinical cases and real-time patient interactions.
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Life Sciences / Biological Sciences / Biomedical / Bio-science / Biotechnology / MBBS / BVSc / BDS from any recognized University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.

Students seeking admission to MSc Clinical Embryology are required to submit the Admission Query form available on the homepage of www.nitte.edu.in Upon receipt of the same, the Admission Section will guide the students through the process of registration and admission.
