The Master in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology (MMRIT) is a two-year postgraduate program designed to prepare skilled imaging professionals with in-depth theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical expertise in modern diagnostic imaging. The course curriculum covers advanced imaging modalities such as Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine, integrated with anatomy, pathology, image processing, and patient care.
With an emphasis on clinical application, research methodology, and technology-driven diagnostics, the program aims to create highly competent imaging technologists ready to work in hospitals, diagnostic centers, research institutions, and academia.
Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences (NIAHS), established in 2025, is a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, and situated in the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangaluru.

Medical imaging professionals are usually employed in the medical imaging/radiology departments of large teaching hospitals, private and country hospitals, and private radiological clinics. Post Graduates may work in the field of teaching, Research , Application Specialist, Radiology Technologist, Clinical Supervisor and even as a clinical research consultant. Professionals may eventually specialise in particular areas of practice, or in specific techniques such as Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
Graduates may also pursue more technical careers in medical physics or biophysics, quality control, radiation health, or with equipment manufacturers. Managerial careers within medical imaging service departments are also possible, as is pursuing further education or research. The medical imaging graduates are highly regarded and employment opportunities are readily available, in both metropolitan and rural and regional areas. There is high industry demand, and you will be qualified to work anywhere in India and in many locations internationally.
