Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences (NIAHS), established in 2025, is a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, and situated in the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangaluru.
The Bachelor in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology prepares students to assist anesthesiologists and surgical teams, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Students learn to manage advanced anesthetics and surgical equipment, maintain records, and prioritize patient safety. Graduates can work as Anaesthesia/OT/Surgical Technologists, Rescue Team members, or pursue higher education and specialization, playing a vital role in modern healthcare and successful surgical outcomes.

Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty is a distinguished pathologist and academician with more than two
decades of extensive experience in clinical practice and medical education. He holds an MBBS and MD
in Pathology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow [FRCP (Glasg)]. Prof.
Jayaprakash has been instrumental in shaping undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral training
programs. His academic leadership, commitment to excellence in pathology, and mentorship have made a
lasting impact on medical education and research. Prof. Jayaprakash is widely respected for his
scholarly contributions and dedication to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

With over a decade of experience in teaching and clinical practice, Mrs. Prathima is a
distinguished expert in Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology. Holding a BSc in
Operation Theatre Technology and an MSc in Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology,
she brings academic rigor and hands-on expertise to her roles. Dedicated to fostering academic
excellence and clinical proficiency, Mrs. Prathima plays a pivotal role in shaping the next
generation of allied health science professionals, driven by her passion for education and patient-
centered care.
Teaching Faculties:
Pass in Class 12 with not less than 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English as one of the languages of study. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Candidates who have passed Diploma in OTT awarded by the State Board or an equivalent, are eligible for direct admission to II year under lateral entry scheme.
Students seeking admission to BSc (A&OTT/MIT/MLT/RT) are required to submit the Admission Query form available on the homepage of www.nitte.edu.in
On receipt of the same, the Admission Section will guide the students with the process of registration and admission.
Admission to BSc (A&OTT/MIT/MLT/RT) is based on merit in the qualifying examination.
The course commences as per the date prescribed by Nitte (Deemed to be University), most likely in the first week of August
