Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty is
a distinguished pathologist and academician with more than two
decades of extensive experience in clinical practice and medical education. He holds an MBBS
and MD in Pathology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow [FRCP
(Glasg)]. Prof. Jayaprakash has been instrumental in shaping undergraduate, postgraduate, and
doctoral training programs. His academic leadership, commitment to excellence in pathology,
and mentorship has made a lasting impact on medical education and research. Prof. Jayaprakash
is widely respected for his scholarly contributions and dedication to nurturing the next generation
of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Mackwin Kenwood D’mello serves
as an Associate Professor and Coordinator in the
Department of Public Health at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), Nitte University,
Mangaluru. A committed public health professional, he brings a data-driven approach to
improving community health, with expertise in epidemiology, health informatics, public health
nutrition. Over the years, Dr. D’mello has published more than 30 research articles in reputed
national and international journals. His efforts have earned him accolades such as the Emerging
Researcher Award at the APOCP General Assembly in Brisbane, Australia (2016), a WHO
travel grant in 2017, and the Dr. Salim Yusuf Team Award for RCT training at St. John’s
Research Institute, Bengaluru in 2024. In 2025, he was selected for the prestigious “Bridging AI
and Healthcare” short course, jointly offered by IISc Bengaluru and the London School of
Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK.
Any graduate in Health Sciences - MBBS, BDS, BVSc, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPharm, BPT, BSc (N), PB BSc (N), BPH, Paramedical Sciences - BSc (MIT), BSc (A&OTT), BSc (MLT), BSc (RT), BSc in Biomedical Science, Veterinary Science, Natural Sciences (any life science), Social Sciences & Social Work, Engineering including Environmental Engineering, Management, Commerce, Humanities or any other degree equivalent thereto, from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Students seeking admission to MPH are required to submit the Admission Enquiry form available on the homepage of www.nitte.edu.in.
On receipt of the same, the Admission Section will guide the students with the process of registration and admission.
Eligible students will be selected on the basis of educational qualification, achievements, professional experience relevant to the field of public health and personal interview.
