The rankings assess the efforts of Universities towards sustainable development through teaching, research, outreach and partnerships in 17 different domains. The Times Higher Education group is an international organization which publishes one of the most influential World University Rankings.

The rankings are based on 18 performance indicators grouped under five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement. This comprehensive approach provides a detailed insight into the strengths and areas for improvement of higher education institutions worldwide.
Nitte (Deemed to be University) has been ranked in the 701–850 band globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for Medicine. The 2025 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject features 55 individual subjects across five broad subject areas. Several subjects, including medicine, computer science and information systems, and materials science now feature more ranked institutions than ever before. Medicine is often one of the most popular subjects at university level, and 850 different universities have been ranked this year to demonstrate the breadth of options available to students interested in the subject.
Nitte (Deemed to be University) has been ranked in the 1001+ band in the Medical and Health category of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. The Medical and Health table evaluates universities across medicine, dentistry, nursing and other healthcare disciplines. This year’s ranking includes 1,150 institutions from 102 countries and territories, which have been assessed based on 18 rigorous performance indicators.

In 2024, the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings assessed the sustainability efforts of 1,477 universities from 95 countries, evaluating their performance across six core categories: Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, and Education and Research.
