Bachelor of Technology in Computer & Communication Engineering is designed to provide expertise to those students who seek specialization in Computer Communication Technologies and Telecommunications. The main focus of the programme is on Computer Networks (Wired and Wireless) and Telecommunications technologies. The program offers courses in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Multimedia Communications and Big Data Analytics. Emphasis is placed throughout the course on developing the practical skills and in-depth knowledge required by the present industrial scenario. This program equips students to engage in research focusing on the fusion of multi-disciplinary skills employed in designing modern computing devices with communication channels, communication systems with advanced computer algorithms and systems.

The program provides experiential learning on basic and advanced courses in computer science, communication networks, security and associated subjects.It is a professional degree that integrates communication techniques, problem-solving strategies, simulation skills and mathematical foundations with the hands-on training required to solve real-world problems.

Events

The farewell for the Computer and Communication Engineering Batch of 2025 was held on 5th April 2025 in Sambram Hall. The event was themed “Old Money,” creating an atmosphere of elegance and timeless charm. Students and faculty arrived dressed in classic, vintage-inspired outfits that set the tone for an evening of nostalgia and celebration.

The program began with a warm welcome by the juniors, followed by a short prayer. Faculty members shared words of encouragement and reflected on the journey of the final-year students. Their speeches were filled with pride, memories, and genuine wishes for the future. Performances by juniors including music, dance, and short skits added energy and humor to the event. A segment was also held where outgoing students shared heartfelt memories, thanking their peers and teachers for their support over the years.

Titles were awarded to final-year students in a fun, light-hearted segment that brought plenty of smiles. The evening ended with group photos, snacks, and music, leaving everyone with lasting memories of a night that was equal parts classy, emotional, and joyful.

TechBlitz 2025, organized by the ACCESS Club, is a high-energy technical competition designed to challenge participants’ knowledge, speed, and creativity. Scheduled for 12 April 2025, at 5 PM onwards, the event features two thrilling rounds. The first, Tech Trivia Frenzy, includes tech-based riddles and multiple-choice questions where quick responses earn higher scores. The second round, Draw to Decode, is a tech-themed Pictionary where participants sketch or guess technical terms to gain points. The winner is determined by total score, with speed serving as the deciding factor in case of a tie. TechBlitz 2025 offers a fun and competitive platform for tech enthusiasts to showcase their skills and think on their feet.

Prep Quest was a dynamic online event designed to prepare engineering students for real-world interviews by simulating a multi-stage interview process. It comprised three distinct rounds. Aptitude, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), and Human Resources (HR) each testing different facets of a candidate's skill set

The event kicked off with a virtual orientation session where participants were welcomed and briefed on the rules. The Aptitude round assessed logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and verbal skills, setting the stage for high-pressure decision-making. The DSA round followed, focusing on core programming challenges such as recursion, arrays, and sorting algorithms, mirroring the kind of technical interviews students would face in real job settings. The final HR round introduced behavioral and situational questions, helping participants frame confident and professional responses.

The activity not only assessed the participants' technical abilities but also helped improve their soft skills, providing them with well-rounded preparation. Prep Quest effectively bridged the gap between academic learning and job-readiness by building confidence and simulating interview scenarios in a competitive yet supportive environment.

Smokeless Bites was a fire-free cooking competition organised to showcase creativity and promote healthier, sustainable culinary practices. Held on 7th March 2025, the event challenged participants to prepare a range of dishes; salads, smoothies, desserts, and sandwiches without using heat or flame.

Contestants participated in teams and impressed judges with their innovation and presentation. Dishes like cold pasta salads and intricately arranged fruit platters demonstrated that great taste doesn’t always require cooking. A panel comprising chefs and nutritionists judged the entries on creativity, taste, and health value.

Beyond the competition, the event featured live demos and interactive sessions on healthy eating, flavour pairing, and artistic plating. This made the event not just a contest, but an informative workshop that emphasized wellness and environmental consciousness. The event culminated in a prize distribution, with “Fire Exit” taking first place, followed by “Fresh Flavour Crew” and “The Winners.”

The Access Premier League (APL), held on 15th March 2025, was a thrilling intra-college cricket tournament that energized both players and spectators. Taking place at the BC Alva Hockey Ground, the event witnessed multiple teams competing in a series of knockout matches characterized by intense sportsmanship and strategic gameplay.

Each match featured high-calibre performances, showcasing players' batting, bowling, and fielding abilities. The energy on the field was infectious, with players giving their all and audiences cheering passionately. The tournament highlighted team spirit and competitive drive while also providing a refreshing break from academic routines.

The grand finale concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. “Team Carlsberg” emerged as the champions, while “Team Falcons” secured the runner-up position. The event left a lasting impression on all involved, strengthening bonds within the student community and reinforcing the role of sports in holistic development.

Spinfinite Logic was a one-of-a-kind coding competition that combined logic with a touch of chance, making for an exhilarating experience. Held on 28 February 2025, this two-round contest tested pattern recognition, algorithm design, and adaptability.

The first round challenged teams with two pattern problems—one simple and one more advanced—made trickier by a surprise 'Pattern Modifier' introduced midway. Moving into Round 2, participants were required to solve coding problems using randomly assigned strategies such as recursion or greedy algorithms, determined by a spinning wheel. A single re-spin option per question was available at a penalty, compelling teams to balance strategy with skill.

The final 30 minutes featured a high-pressure 'Double Trouble' segment, where teams faced two critical problems and had the freedom to choose their own approach. This decisive round carried additional weight and played a key role in determining the top performers.

The event concluded with SKIBIDI CODERS winning first place, followed by Crazy Coder’s and Code Crackers. Spinfinite Logic not only tested technical knowledge but also encouraged creativity and decision-making under constraints, making it a truly memorable coding event.

Meme War, conducted on 28th February 2025, was a hilarious and highly engaging non-technical event where teams competed to create the funniest memes based on a given theme. The competition was held in two rounds and encouraged both wit and digital creativity.

In Round 1, participants used provided templates to design static memes centered around a selected theme. Judged on humor, relevance, and originality, this round was a riot of laughs. Round 2 took it a step further teams converted one of their memes into a video with audio, animations, or voiceovers, allowing them to amplify their comedic impact through multimedia storytelling.

The event was a hit among students, offering a creative outlet and a refreshing break from academics. “Team Jelly Lime Shake” emerged victorious, with “Team Brainrot” coming in second. Meme War exemplified how digital creativity and humor can come together for an unforgettable event.

Quiz-o-Mania was a fun and intellectually stimulating online quiz event conducted using Google Forms. Held on 1st February 2025, the event attracted quiz enthusiasts across various domains and was structured into three distinct rounds, each testing different types of knowledge.

Round 1 featured 20 multiple-choice questions on light-hearted topics such as pop culture, movies, anime, and sports. This round set a lively tone while warming up the participants. Round 2 shifted gears with 15 questions rooted in general knowledge, geography, and science, testing academic and real-world awareness. The final Round 3 introduced a brain-teasing twist with 10 tricky questions involving logic puzzles, riddles, and mathematical reasoning.

The scoring was cumulative, and the winners were declared based on the total points scored across all three rounds. The trio of Fida Mariyam and Mohammed Naurez bagged first place, followed by Prapthi, Aishwarya, and Suyash in second, and a group led by Vanshika Kotian in third. The event was not only entertaining but also served as a mental workout, making it an ideal blend of fun and intellect.

Bollywood Mania, conducted on 8th February 2025, was a lively interbranch competition centered around Bollywood films and music. The event was held in LC 53 of the SMV Block and featured ten duet teams, creating a total of 20 participants.

The event unfolded in three engaging rounds. The first round tested teams on their ability to identify Bollywood songs based on hilariously translated English lyrics. Fast responses and accuracy were crucial, as the format allowed points for direct answers and passed questions. The second round was a dance face-off, where participants identified the song based on its hook step. Finally, the third round featured emoji-based movie guessing, challenging the teams’ pop culture fluency.

The event was not just about quizzing, it brought energy, laughter, and a strong sense of nostalgia for participants and audience alike. Nithika Shetty and Nikhil Bangera emerged as winners. Bollywood Mania stood out as a vibrant mix of trivia, dance, and movie fandom.

Generation Gurus was an insightful knowledge-sharing session held on 18th January 2025, specifically for students of the Computer and Communication Engineering (CCE) branch. The event featured seniors Aaron, Yuvraj, Vijeth, and Sudeepa, who had successfully secured placements and came back to share their experiences.

Each speaker presented a structured breakdown of their placement journeys, discussing resume building, interview strategies, common challenges, and how they overcame them. The event also included Q&A sessions, giving attendees an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.

Targeted primarily at 3rd-year students (with mandatory attendance), the event also welcomed interested 2nd-year students. It served as a much-needed reality check and motivation boost for students preparing for their own placement journeys. Generation Gurus successfully bridged the gap between academics and professional readiness, offering clarity, direction, and encouragement.

TechFusion, conducted on 11th January 2025, was a multi-faceted online event designed to challenge 2nd and 3rd-year CCE students in technical, logical, and creative domains. The event was structured into three progressive rounds that tested core competencies.

Round 1, titled Brain Buzz, involved an MCQ quiz hosted on HackerEarth, covering key technical topics like Data Structures, OOP, and Digital Circuits. Round 2, Puzzle Palooza, shifted the focus to lateral thinking and problem-solving through logic puzzles and riddles. The final round, Innovation Station, took place on Google Meet, where shortlisted participants presented project ideas and brainstormed solutions to real-world problems.

TechFusion emphasised technical depth, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Shashank Kumar clinched first place, followed by Sabil and the duo Vaishnavi and Prathika. The event stood out for its comprehensive structure and focus on encouraging both technical brilliance and creative ideation.

Access Football League was a spirited football tournament held on 25th January 2025, bringing together teams from the CCE department in a competitive yet sportsmanlike environment. The tournament featured four boys' teams and two girls' teams, each playing with remarkable enthusiasm and commitment.

Despite the difference in the number of teams, the competitive spirit remained high across both divisions. The boys’ matches were fast-paced and filled with strategic gameplay, while the girls’ teams impressed with their determination and skill, breaking stereotypes and setting new standards.

The boys’ title was clinched by Team Falcons, with Team Phoenix as runners-up. In the girls’ division, Team SNRS secured first place. The event wasn't just about winning; it celebrated camaraderie, teamwork, and physical fitness, making Access Football League one of the most spirited and memorable sports events of the year.

The CCE Department hosted an insightful workshop aimed at empowering second-year students with essential tools for professional development. The session began with a comprehensive introduction to GitHub, covering version control, repository creation, branching, and pull requests. Practical activities allowed students to engage hands-on with collaborative coding techniques. The second part of the session focused on LinkedIn, guiding students on how to build and optimize their profiles, highlight their skills and achievements, and connect meaningfully with professionals. The workshop concluded with tips on leveraging these platforms for internships and job placements. It was a productive and impactful session that bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world opportunities.

Organised in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council, this seminar offered budding entrepreneurs a deep dive into the Indian startup ecosystem. Dr. Sachin S Bhat, Founder of Alar Innovations, shared his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the evolution of startups in India, along with key statistics and state-wise support systems. The seminar explored various funding opportunities and government initiatives that support early-stage ventures. Attendees gained insights into the mindset and strategy needed to succeed in today’s dynamic startup landscape. A vibrant Q&A session allowed students to interact directly with the speaker, making this event both educational and motivational.

Organised as a warm farewell for the final-year students, the ‘Good Vibes Gathering’ was an evening filled with nostalgia, joy, and heartfelt moments. The event included childhood-themed games such as musical chairs, evoking laughter and cherished memories among all participants. A highlight was a sentimental video montage made from memorable photos collected throughout the students’ college life. Seniors took center stage to share their college experiences, reflect on personal growth, and thank peers and faculty for their support. The event concluded with an atmosphere of gratitude and strong bonds, leaving attendees with cherished memories to carry into their futures.

Rang Manthan, a vibrant rangoli competition organised by the ACCESS committee, celebrated creativity and tradition through colorful art. The event encouraged participants to showcase their talent in designing intricate patterns using colored powders. More than just an art contest, Rang Manthan served as a cultural gathering, emphasizing the importance of Indian heritage and fostering a sense of unity and community among participants. The ACCESS committee hosted Twirl & Taal, an electrifying Garba night that turned the campus into a colorful celebration of rhythm and tradition. With vibrant attire and traditional music echoing in the background, students joined hands in circles, performing synchronized Garba steps in high spirits. The event was more than just a dance—it was a cultural expression that brought together students from different backgrounds to celebrate the joy and unity of Navratri. The night was filled with energy, connection, and festive cheer.

To mark the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the CCE department organised an Ayudha Pooja, a traditional celebration that honors tools and instruments. Faculty, students, and guests from other departments gathered for the event. After preparing vibrant decorations, devotional songs filled the venue, setting a spiritual tone. The puja ceremony took place from 3:30 PM to 4 PM, followed by the distribution of prasadam and sweets to all attendees. The event was a meaningful reminder of cultural values and community spirit, leaving participants with a sense of spiritual fulfillment

The Quiz Whiz Showdown was an intellectually stimulating event that tested students across three rounds of intense problem-solving and tech trivia. The first round challenged participants with aptitude and code-based questions, while the second featured a tech awareness quiz, including image-based tasks identifying famous tech icons and gadgets. The final round pushed the top teams to their limits with puzzles, crosswords, and riddles. With brilliant participation and enthusiastic audience engagement, the event concluded with Reegan & Saketh winning first place, and Carron & Reyon securing second. It was a celebration of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration.

To honor Gandhi Jayanti and promote environmental awareness, a beach cleaning drive was organised in collaboration with NSS. Volunteers gathered early at the coastline to clean up litter, plastic, and non-biodegradable waste, working tirelessly to restore the natural beauty of the area. Participants also educated beachgoers about sustainable practices and the importance of marine conservation. The drive instilled a strong sense of responsibility and community involvement, inspiring many to commit to long-term environmental stewardship.

This high-energy tournament featured 9 mixed-gender teams, each required to include at least two female players, promoting inclusivity in sports. The format was fast-paced, with each game limited to three overs and unique scoring rules fours were the highest scoring hits, while sixes resulted in dismissals. The matches were filled with excitement, drawing loud cheers from the audience. Faculty, including the HOD, also joined in the fun, making it a spirited day of competition and camaraderie. Team Carlesberg emerged victorious, with Royal Cricketers finishing as runners-up. The event was a vibrant celebration of fitness, sportsmanship, and unity.

Led by an academic expert, Professor Dr. Prassanna Kumar H.R, this session focused on strengthening students’ foundations in Data Structures and Algorithms. Participants explored core topics such as arrays, stacks, queues, sorting, and searching techniques, all contextualized with real-world applications. The interactive format encouraged engagement through problem-solving exercises and practical insights into optimizing solutions. The session was particularly valuable for students preparing for technical interviews and looking to enhance their coding proficiency. It left attendees more confident and motivated to tackle advanced programming challenges.

Logo Rush was a creative logo-making competition organised by the ACCESS committee of the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering. Held on the symbolic occasion of Independence Day, the event invited students to design a fresh logo for the department’s student association ACCESS. Participants were required to create original designs, strictly prohibiting AI-generated or plagiarized work. The logo had to include the words “ACCESS” and “Computer and Communication Engineering,” and be presented on a digital A4 canvas. The event fostered a spirit of originality and innovation, challenging students to combine artistic flair with institutional identity. Logo Rush proved to be a vibrant platform for self-expression and community representation through design.

On 31st August 2024, the college came alive with the excitement of competitive gaming as it hosted a high-energy offline event featuring Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Mini Militia. This gaming event, held in the department labs, turned into a vibrant battleground for student gamers to showcase their skills, teamwork, and reflexes in an electrifying environment.

The venue was set up with multiple gaming stations, allowing for seamless gameplay. Despite a modest setup, the competitive spirit and participation exceeded expectations. Structured matches were conducted with clearly outlined rules, brackets, and real-time score tracking, creating an authentic tournament feel.

Participants got to battle it out in intense rounds, with each match drawing cheers and excitement from both players and spectators. The event was not only about winning it served as a community-building initiative, allowing students from different years and backgrounds to bond over a shared passion for gaming.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing the best teams and individual performers in both BGMI and Mini Militia. The smooth execution, coupled with high enthusiasm and fair play, made it one of the most enjoyable events of the semester. It highlighted how gaming, when done right, can foster camaraderie, healthy competition, and a sense of belonging within the student community.
