ABOUT NSS

The NSS was launched on 24 September 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi to whom social service was almost a religion. NSS is a voluntary association of Students and Teachers in Colleges at UG level. The principle of the NSS programme is to get a sense of involvement in the task of Nation Building through community service.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To enable the students to understand the community in which they work.
  2. To understand themselves in relation to their community.
  3. To identify the needs and problems of the community and the solution to them.
  4. To develop competence required for group living and sharing responsibilities.
  5. To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  6. To encourage national integration and develop the capacity to meet emergencies and national disasters.
