1. The men’s Cross Country team won Runner up Trophy in the VTU Intercollegiate State Level Cross Country men’s Championship held at Dr. Thimmayya Institute of Technology, Kolar on 9 & 10 July 2023.

2. The men's team secured the Championship Trophy in the VTU Mangaluru Division Men's Badminton Tournament, hosted by NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte.

3.The men’s Football team won Runners up Trophies in both VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Division and VTU State Level Football tournament held from 23 to 27 August 2023 at PA College of Engineering, Mangaluru on 26 & 27 August 2023.

4. The men’s Yoga team won the Runner-up Trophy in the VTU Inter Collegiate State Level Yoga competition held on 30 August 2023 at NMAMIT, Nitte.

5. The men’s Weightlifting team won the Championship Trophy in the VTU Inter Collegiate State Level competition organised by Vemena Institute of Technology, Bengaluru on 1 September 2023.

6. The men’s Power Lifting team won the Championship Trophy in the VTU Inter Collegiate State Level competition organised by Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi on 7 & 8 September 2023.

7. Mr.Neil Mascarenhas, V Sem/ISE, participated in the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championship 2023 at Windsor, Ontario Canada from 13 to 17 September 2023.

15. NMAMIT Table Tennis women’s team won the championship in the Nitte (Deemed to be University) Inter-Collegiate competition held at ABSMIDS, Mangaluru at KSHEMA campus, Deralakatte, Mangaluru on 22 February 2024.

16. NMAMIT Badminton men’s team secured both the Championship and Runners Up trophy in the Nitte (Deemed to be University) Inter-Collegiate Badminton staff tournament held at ABSMIDS, Deralakatte, Mangaluru on 23 February 2024. In the men's competition, Dr. Preetham Shetty, Librarian, claimed first place in the Singles category, while Mr.Praveen, Senior Lab Assistant, secured second place in Table Tennis.

Organization of sports events by the Department of Physical Education and Sports

1.Visvesvaraya Technological University Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Division men and women Badminton tournaments were conducted on 19 July 2023 successfully. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Preetham Shetty K V, Librarian, NMAMIT and former State Level Badminton player. Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte, Mr. John D’Silva, Chairman, John’s Sports & Cultural Academy, Karkala and Mr. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator I/C present during the occasion.Total 09 men teams & 07 women teams took participated in the competitions under Mangaluru Division colleges affiliated to VTU.

NMAMIT men team secured the Championship Trophy in the tournament.

2.The VTU Inter Collegiate State Level Yoga men & women competition was conducted on 30.08.2023 very successfully. 128 Yoga players participated in the competition. The tournament was inaugurated by Ms. Shreevani Bairy, an Alumnus, NMAMIT & National Yoga player.

Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar was presided over the function. Sri. K Narendra Kamath, International Yoga referee, Mr. Ranganath G.H, Former Director of Physical Education, VTU, Belagavi, Mrs. Vaneesha Rodrigues, Regional Director, VTU, Mangaluru Division, were present during the occasion. NMAMIT Men Yoga team secured the Runner up trophy to this tournament.

3.Nitte (Deemed to be University) Inter Collegiate Yoga & Chess men & women competitions & selection trials conducted on 18 October 2023 at Sadananda Open Auditorium

The competition was inaugurated by Sri. Ashok Kumar, International Yoga player from Kukkundoor, Karkala. The function was presided by Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT with the gracious presence by Dr. I R Mithanthaya , Vice Principal & Dean (Academic), Dr. Srinivas Rao, Vice Principal & CoE, Dr. Rekha Bhandarkar, Deputy Registrar, Nitte (DU) & Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat, Deputy CoE, Nitte (DU). A total number of 95 participants took part in both the events in men & women sections.

4.Nitte (Deemed to be University) Inter Collegiate Weight Lifting, Power Lifting (M & W) & Best Physique (M) Competitions & Selection Trials organized on 28 October 2023. The tournament was inaugurated by Sri Dilip Shetty, Physical Education Director, AIET, Moodabidire. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean ( Academic) was presided over the function.

5.The 38th College Annual Sports Day was conducted on 31 January 2024 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Ground, Nitte. Dr. T. Mallikarjunappa, Professor, Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte was the chief guest and inaugurated the meet. Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal was presided over the function.

6.Inter Branch “KHELOTSAV 2024” Game Competitions was conducted from 4 March 2024 to 13 April 2024 in different play fields of NMAMIT, Nitte. The Sports award ceremony of Nitte Khelothsav was held on 15.04.2024 at SAC OAT, NMAMIT. Prof. A Yogeesh Hegde, Director, Campus maintenance & Development, Nitte Off Campus centre, Nitte (DU) and Mrs. Suneetha R. Shetty, Sr. Administrative Suptd., NMAMIT distributed the trophies and medals to the winners and the runners. Chemistry Cycle emerged the overall championship trophy and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning secured the Runner up overall games events

7.The VTU Inter Collegiate Mangaluru Division Hockey men competition conducted on 03.02.2024 very successfully. 06 Hockey teams participated in the competition. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. M.K. Hriday Muthanna, Production & Design Engineer in Colorado & Alumni of NMAMIT. Dr. Niranjan N. Chilpunkar was the presided over the function. Prof. Yogeesh Hegde, Director, Campus Maintenance and Development, Nitte Off Campus centre and Sri. Shyam Sundar M., Sports Administrator were present during the occasion. In the prize distribution programme Ms. Surekha, Ms. Sangeetha former national Hockey players distributed the trophies & certificates to the winners and runners.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sri Sweekar Shetty, Proprietor, Elegant Interiors, Mangaluru & Alumni of NMAMIT and Mr. M.K. Hriday Muthanna, Production & Design Engineer in Colorado & Alumni of NMAMIT. Dr. Niranjan N. Chilpunkar was the presided over the function. Prof. Yogeesh Hegde, Director, Campus Maintenance and Development, Nitte Off Campus centre and Sri. Shyam Sundar M., Sports Administrator were present during the occasion. 10.Nitte Premier League Cricket tournament was conducted on 16 & 17 March 2024. The tournament was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal and Dean (Academics), NMAMIT Nitte with the presence of Prof. A Yogeesh Hegde, Director (Campus Maintenance and Development), Nitte Off Campus Centre, Nitte (DU) and Mrs. Radha Prabhu, Principal, Dr. NSAM EMS, Nitte. Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar presided over the function. . Total 8 teams participated in 4 days of league tournament. In the prize distribution function, Sri. Vijaya Alva, Professor, Dept. of Sociology, SMS College Bhramavara, Sri. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator I/c, and Dr. Ganesh Poojary, Physical Education Director distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners and runners

11.Nitte Football League for the Nitte Institutions was conducted on 20 March 2024 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Football ground, Nitte. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Niranjan N .Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte with the presence of Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean (Academics), NMAMIT. Total 8 teams participated in 4 days of tournament

12.Nitte (Deemed to be University) Inter Collegiate Athletics Championship conducted on 26 March 2024 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Ground, Nitte. Dr. Subramanya Bhat K., Deputy Controller of Examination, Nitte off Campus Centre, Nitte (DU), Nitte was the chief guest and inaugurated the meet. Dr. Ramesh I Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean (Academic) was presided over the function. Dr. Murali Krishna V., Deputy Director (Sports), Nitte (DU), Dr. Veena B.K., Principal, Dr. NSAM FGC, Nitte and Sri. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator I/C present during the occasion. Dr. Ganesh Poojary, Physical Education Director was coordinator of the meet. 15 colleges affiliated Nitte (DU) took participated in the competition

In student’s athletic events, Mr. Shreyas N.R., from NIPT, Deralakatte, secured best Athlete in men section & Ms. Siona Angela Rodrigous, NMAMIT, secured best Athlete in women section. Athletics track and field events along with recreation events also conducted to the staff members during the sports meet.

In the March Past competition, NMAMIT, Nitte and Dr. NSAM FGC, Nitte secured the Championship and runner up trophies respectively.

In the men team championship, Dr. NSAM FGC, Nitte secured winner’s trophy, NMAMIT, Nitte secured the runner up trophy & NIPT, Deralakatte secured 2nd runner up.

In the women team Championship, NMAMIT, Nitte secured the winners, Dr. NSAM FGC secured the runner up trophy & NIPE, Deralakatte secured the 2nd runner up and

The overall championship bagged by Dr. NSAM FGC, Nitte with 92 points and overall runner up secured by NMAMIT, Nitte with 83 points.

13.Nitte Kabaddi League was conducted by Dept. of Physical Education and NKL Committee on 16 & 17 March 2024. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Prakash Shenoy, Vice Principal, Dr. NSAM PUC, Nitte. Prof. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal and Dean (Academics), NMAMIT Nitte presided over the function. Total 8 teams participated in 2 days of league tournament.

14.Justice K. S. Hegde Memorial Trophy”, Leather Ball T - 20 Invitational Cricket men Tournament for the colleges of Udupi & D. K Districts scheduled from 21 March to 7 April 2024 at B. C. Alva Sports Complex Cricket Ground. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT and Prof. A. Yogeesh Hegde, Director, Campus Maintenance and Development, Nitte Off Campus centre, Nitte (DU), Nitte. NMAMIT TEAM WON the CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY in the competition.

7. The 37th College Annual Sports Day was conducted on 14 March 2023 at B.C. Alva Sports Complex Athletics Ground, Nitte. Sri. Gunapala J, Ex Athlete, NMAMIT & Police Sub Inspector, Mescom Vigilance Police Station, Mangaluru was the chief guest and inaugurated the meet. Dr. Ramesh I Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean Academic was presided over the function. Sri. Ashok Adyanthaya, Honorary President, Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association, Prof. A. Yogeesh Hegde, Director (CM & D), Nitte Off Campus Centre, Dr. Srinivas B Rao, Vice Principal & COE and Sri. Shyam Sundar M, Sports Administrator I/C present during the occasion.

In student’s athletic events, Mr. Manoj Binnal, VI Sem, Information Science has secured best Athlete in men section & Ms. Siona Rodrigous, 1st year, Chemistry cycle has secured best Athlete in women section. Athletic and recreation events also conducted to the staff members during the sports meet.

In the March Past competition, Post Graduates, Ist year Physics Cycle & AI & ML secured the cash award with I Place, II Place & III Place respectively and the staff team awarded with consolation prize.

8. VTU Mangaluru Division Cricket men tournament was conducted by NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte from 14 to 19 March 2023 successively. The tournament was inaugurated by Sri Sadananda Shirva, Ex. Senior Manager, Karnataka Bank Ltd., Total 14 teams participated in the tournament affiliated to VTU Mangaluru Division.
