About the institute
Offering Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral studies in nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS) is one of the oldest colleges under the ambit of Nitte. Students receive clinical training at the 1,200-bed, multispecialty Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.The institute has an MoU with ISDC Projects India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, to deliver the International Certificate in Clinical Competence for Nurses (OSCE Preparatory Program) developed by ISDC, UK, to BSc Nursing students. This is an attempt to upgrade students' skills to international standards.
About the Program
A bridge program designed for Registered Nurses and Midwives (RNRM) holding a Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM). It elevates the skills of a student who has completed the Diploma to the Bachelor's level and opens the door for higher studies.The PB BSc program largely focuses on maternal nursing, child health nursing nursing education and community health.

Candidates seeking admission to Post Basic BSc Nursing program are required to submit the Enquiry form & Application available on apply.nitte.edu.inAdmission is based on merit in the qualifying examination.

- GNM Marks Cards of all years (Original + 2 attested copies)
- Diploma Certificate (Original + 2 attested copies)
- Registration Certificate issued by the State Nursing Council (Original + 2 attested copies)
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended (Original + 2 attested copies)
- Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended (Original)
- Physical Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner
- Blood Group Certificate
- Aadhaar card copy of the student
- Photographs: Recent colour photo with white background, of resolution 300-600 dpi & Passport size 5 Nos. (35mm x 45mm) & Stamp size 5 Nos. (20mm x 25mm)
Commencement of Program
The Post Basic BSc Nursing program commence on the date prescribed by the University, generally in August.
