Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences has several programs in nursing which includes Masters in 4 areas of specialization i.e., Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Child Health Nursing. Master’s program in Medical Surgical Nursing offers super specialities namely Critical Care Nursing, Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nursing, Neurosciences Nursing, Nephro Urology Nursing, Gastro-Enterology Nursing etc. The institute also encourages nurses to begin research intensive journey by obtaining a Ph D under Nitte Deemed to be University which is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Fellowships are also offered for full-time doctoral candidates by the university. The sanctioned intake for the Postgraduate program is 10, while the undergraduate programs are 200. The institute has students from Bhutan, Nagaland, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka and NRI.

The institute has an MoU with ISDC Projects India Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore to deliver the International Certificate in Clinical Competence for Nurses (OSCE Preparatory Programme) course developed by ISDC, UK to the B.Sc. Nursing students ensure upgrading the skills of nursing students to international standards and acquire recognition in the global nursing workforce. It also enables nursing graduate students to attend the OET and CBT examinations to pursue the NMC registration.
