The Department of Pharmacology, K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru Established in 1999, at the same time of foundation of the college The department is committed to high quality teaching of Pharmacology to medical, dental & paramedical specialities. In addition to academics’ department is involved in research activities and providing hospital support services.

The Department of Pharmacology coordinates the Institutional Ethics Committee, registered under Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) registered under CCSEA, Government of India in reviewing research proposals, approving protocols, ensuring ethical conduct, and continuously monitoring studies.It maintains an Animal House, recognized by CCSEA, Government of India, for research purposes. It has a robust Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC), in collaboration with Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI).
