Child day care centre (Crèche)

Nitte (Deemed to be University) provides an on-campus Child Day Care Centre (Crèche) to support employees and students with childcare responsibilities, particularly working mothers and student-mothers. The facility enables parents to fulfil their professional and academic commitments while ensuring that their children receive supervised care in a child-friendly environment.

Located in the Hospital building at the Deralakatte campus, the crèche is available for children below 10 years of age belonging to university employees and students. It operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and offers full-day and half-day childcare arrangements according to parents' requirements. Caretakers are available to look after children during operating hours. The facility provides a child-friendly environment equipped with colourful posters, play materials, a blackboard and multimedia facilities. Children are encouraged to participate in play and guided activities, supporting their engagement and development while their parents are at work or pursuing academic activities.

By providing accessible on-campus childcare, the University helps employees and students balance family responsibilities with their professional and academic commitments. This initiative promotes an inclusive, supportive and family-friendly campus environment and facilitates the continued participation of women in employment, higher education, research and professional development.







Breastfeeding Rooms

Nitte (Deemed to be University) provides five dedicated breastfeeding rooms to support nursing mothers on campus. These facilities offer private, clean and safe spaces for breastfeeding, promoting maternal wellbeing and enabling women employees and students to continue their professional and academic activities while attending to their childcare needs..
