MBA program was introduced in NMIT in the year 2004. It is an Autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. Over a decade, the department has evolved into a reputed centre for management education and research in Karnataka. Students from various parts of India pursue their MBA program in our lively campus under the guidance of competent faculty members. Our department has been instrumental in continually upgrading the learning standards by introducing various programs which are in line with current industry demands. We strive to impart quality management education that transform an individual into competent business leaders, skilled managers & entrepreneurs.
To be the department of excellence in imparting transformative management education and foster research and development for the growth of future management professionals and entrepreneurs to contribute for the betterment of the society.
Department of Management Studies has 6 Smart class rooms with required facilities. Comfortable individual seating facilities are provided in the classrooms.
MBA Computer Lab has 60 Intel Work stations with latest configurations and Server facility which is connected to Internet 24×7 with a printer, Smart board and projection screen and is fully air conditioned. A 15 KVA UPS supports the lab during power cuts. The Lab facility is used by the students for research, practical application of management subjects. Tools such as R Studio, Orange, Anaconda, My SQL, Power BI, Tableau, MS office are used.
The library with its modern collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services fills an essential role for students, faculty and the surrounding community in their intellectual pursuits. It is a centralized fully automated library predominantly related to Management and allied subjects. The collection comprises of 24,400 volumes of Books with 12,203 Titles, 110 National & 5,170 International printed journals and subscribed by E-journals (Full Text) from Taylor & Francis, Springer, Proquest, IET online and the E-Books CRC, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Open E-Books. All the Operations of the Library are automated using Libsys 7 (Release 1.0) software which an extremely important primary support service is provided by NMIT. The library and the associated library facilities are providing indispensable services in support of imparting and acquiring competent and up-to-date professional knowledge. This basic necessity has been recognized and the methodology of developing and using the library and library-associated services is established in this Library mainly OPEN ACCESS, LENDING OF BOOKS, REFERENCE/REFERRAL SERVICE, INDIAN STANDARDS/PATENTS etc. The operational hours are from 9 am to 8 pm on all the days and 9 am to 1 pm on sunday. NMIT MBA Digital Library is well facilitated with many computers with required software.
High end servers with advanced operating systems like Windows and Ubuntu are used. The workstations are installed with recent software used for building Artificial Intelligence applications and executing massive data sets. The students are trained to get a wide exposure with in depth knowledge and skills in programming languages like for C, C++ programming, Java, python for Machine learning Deep Learning Programs, R, Ruby, Rust, Go Programming, Kotlin etc.

Nitte Management student’s Club (NMSC)
NMSC is not just a place of learning, it is a dynamic community where students actively engage in a plethora of activities to foster holistic development. To cultivate a stimulating environment where students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also apply it through hands-on activities, honing their analytical, strategic, and leadership skills. These activities involved Role Plays, Presentations, Surveys, Report Writing: Industry Connect, Entrepreneurship Initiatives, Community Outreach Programs, Leadership Development Programs. At the MBA Department, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also possess the practical skills and mindset required for success in the dynamic world of business. NMSC helps students in their transformative journey where education goes beyond the classroom, and every initiative contributes to your comprehensive development as a future business leader.
Rotaract club NMIT-MBA in association with Rotary Kalyan organised a social drive "The Joy of giving" where a huge baggage of donated clothes was distributed to the kids at "Adarane Charitable Trust", Jakkur -Bangalore to mark a tribute towards International Women's Day celebration on 8th March 2024. This drive was filled with loads of fun-filled activities, and special career mentoring by Rotaract club co-ordinators of MBA-NMIT.

Workshop on “Empowering Young Minds: Entrepreneurship & Innovation”
Department of Management studies organized a 3 Day Workshop on “Empowering Young Minds: Entrepreneurship & Innovation” in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council of NMIT in collaboration with Lourdes English High School on 8th, 9th and 15th of November 2023. Rtn. Jyothi Manjunath, Eduprenuer, Business Consultant and Dr. Eti Khatri, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, NMIT were the resource persons for the workshop.
The workshop aimed to cultivate essential skills in school students, empowering them to innovate, lead, collaborate, persevere, and instil vital life skills that extend beyond the confines of the classroom. The workshop helped participants to develop a mindset geared towards innovation, learning how to think creatively and approach challenges with inventive solutions.
NMIT- Department of Management Studies organised a visit to Ashraya Seva Trust an old age home, on 10th September, 2023. The office bearers and members of the "Rotaract NMIT-MBA Club" visited the old age home to serve the residing elders with a day filled with joy, love and care. Fresh fruits and healthy eatables were served to the residing elders.
Department of Management Studies organised "Rotaract NMIT-MBA Club Installation Ceremony 2023-24" on 21-8-23, in which a new team of office bearers were nominated. Rtn. HMT Gowda, President of sponsoring club, Rotary Bangalore High grounds was the chief guest.
As a special attraction of the program, Ms. Divaa Utkarsh, a 15-year-old young leader, a proud recipient of "Diana Award-2023", Founder & CEO of the Project "Surya", was invited to deliver a talk about her initiatives.
Department organized a 3 Day Workshop on Innovation & Entrepreneurship from 8th -10th August, 2023 in association with Rotary Kalyan and BM English School, Hennur.
The objective of the workshop was to ignite their entrepreneurial mindset, to analyze problems and ideate, then prototype, and provide impactful solutions. The session provided an opportunity to learn methodology to solve problems, including empathizing, ideating, validating, prototyping, and pitching. The workshop helped students to improve their capacity as storytellers; pitching (and persuading) with purpose.
Department of Management studies celebrated World Environment Day on 9th June, 2023. Rotaract Club of NMIT-MBA organized a guest talk on "CONVERTING WASTE TO WEALTH". Mr. Vishwanath Mallabadi, Eco- artist and Mr. Himanshu B, Founder-Everything Recycles, provided insights on the importance of reusing waste materials to sustain the environment for a better future.
Department of Management Studies organised an expert talk on “Who is an entrepreneur?” in association with Rotary Kalyan and BM English School on 9th February 2023. Rtn. Naveen Kumar Founder & Principal Consultant, Growth Consulting was the resource person for the workshop. The objective of the session is to develop skills into the school students that prepare them to innovate, lead, collaborate, persevere, and inculcate crucial life skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom walls.

Five Day workshop on ‘Design Thinking and Innovation’
Department of Management Studies organised a Five-Day workshop on Design Thinking and Innovation from May 8, 2023 to May 13, 2023 for first semester students of MBA. Ms. Vindhyashree, Senior Instructional Designer, -Learning Mate was the resource person.
The objective of the workshop was to foster creativity, innovation, problem-solving skills, and empathy while engaging them in a structured and iterative approach to design.

The Department of Management Studies, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, organised its flagship programme, the National Seminar on "Transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0” & Radical Changes in the Indian Business Environment," on April 28, 2023, in association with Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) and Vision Karnataka Foundation (VKF).
Industrial Visit
First semester students of Department of Management Studies visited RITTAL India Pvt Ltd on 20.04.2023 and 21.04.2023. The main objective of the program was to familiarize students about company operations of Rittal India Pvt Ltd and to provide them a practical exposure towards concepts learnt in classroom.

“Master Minds 2”- Inter Industry Management Quiz
Department of Management Studies organized “Master Minds 2”- Inter Industry Management Quiz, in association with Federation of Karnataka Chamber of commerce (FKCCI) and National Institute of Personnel management (NIPM) was conducted on 3rd February, 2023 at Sir M V Auditorium at FKCCI building.
The main objective of this Quiz program was to establish industry connect and help the student community of NMIT to get more exposure by interacting with the corporates. 28 Teams from top reputed companies like Infosys, ITC, Himalaya wellness, Rittal India pvt Ltd, TSMT, L&T, PWC, Sai Mitra Constructions, Strides, Naveen Automotives, TCIT etc. participated in the event.

Department of Management Studies (MBA) in association with Institutions Innovation Council Organized Expert Talk on “Entrepreneurial Journey - Key to Success” on 17th January, 2023. Mr. Karthik A C, Managing Director of Flora and Fauna Landscape Experts, Proprietor of Karthik Nursery and Managing Partner of Floral Springs shared his insights about starting a business, challenges faced by entrepreneurs, strategies that can be adopted by entrepreneurs at different stages.
The Department of Management Studies has established MOUs with prestigious institutions such as TSMT and Kerrering University to promote academic collaboration, international exchange programs, and joint research initiatives, enriching the learning experience for students and faculty. The partnership with Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. aims to bridge academia-industry gaps in finance and investment management through practical exposure and industry-relevant projects, while the collaboration with The Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) focuses on enhancing professional development in training and development fields through workshops, seminars, and certification programs, collectively preparing students for leadership roles in diverse management domains.
