  • Faculty Development and Professional Growth:

The second key initiative to enhance the teaching-learning process focuses on Faculty Development and Professional Growth. Understanding the importance of continuously refining teaching methodologies, the department has encouraged faculty members to pursue certification courses and actively participate in faculty development programs (FDP), including workshops on modern teaching techniques. In addition, mentorship programs, such as the "Learn FDP" initiative, have been introduced to promote collaboration between experienced mentors and junior faculty. This program facilitates the exchange of innovative teaching practices and strategies. The primary goal of these efforts is to create a collaborative environment that empowers faculty members to become dynamic, skilled educators capable of delivering high-quality education.

The table below outlines some of the key certification programs, FDPs, and mentorship initiatives, with further details and resources for reference.

  • Moodle LMS:

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering uses the Learning Management System (Moodle) to provide a single platform for the advancement of effective learning techniques. This is done to guarantee that the teaching and learning process is effective, as well as to ensure that the curriculum is completed as planned.

All of the students who are enrolled in a specific semester are required to register for the courses that are being offered during that semester. In the Learning Management System (LMS), a course page is allocated to each of the courses. The students are provided with all of the instructional resources that are associated with the topic, including the academic calendar, the time schedule, the syllabus, the lesson plan, the materials, the assessment components (MSE QP + Scheme), and a link to YouTube for more information.

Additionally, the Learning Management System (LMS) platform is used to carry out the Learning Activity component (LA), which therefore enables the students to submit the document and also enables the faculty to assess the LA component by providing marks.

Students participate in a variety of quirky activities, including peer learning activities for students who learn slowly and knowledge improve mt for those who learn quickly. These activities are made possible by the Learning Management System (LMS) Platform, which enables students to present current papers in class and circulate them across the classroom.

Through the use of a centralized platform, the process of checking the similarity index for the final year project is simplified for all of the students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The students were allowed to submit the papers in either the Word or PDF format, and the percentage of plagiarism that was included in the report was created in a short amount of time.

Learning is thus made more efficient and less difficult via the use of LMS.
