The Department of Information Science and Engineering was established in the year 2001 and offers a 4-year undergraduate program (BTech). The initial Intake of 60 students has now grown to 240 students. The undergraduate program is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under the Tier-1 scheme, which corresponds to the Washington Accord and is valid up to the academic year 2026–27. The department also offers a doctoral program.

OSCode:

OSCode (Open Source Community) is a student-driven technical community that fosters open-source software development, collaborative learning, and innovation by providing students with hands-on exposure to modern technologies through workshops, technical talks, coding sessions, hackathons, and industry-oriented activities. The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Student Branch Chapter at NMIT is a student-led professional society dedicated to advancing knowledge in remote sensing, geospatial technologies, artificial intelligence, and unmanned aerial systems. This will be a bootable tablet which has not yet designed in market, as the board is very small in size of tablet depends on the size of the screen used to built, weight will be less in comparison to other tablets currently available in market, the most important feature of the tablet its low cost making it affordable a wide range of customers.
