Tulu Dina 2024 at Off-Campus Center of Nitte DU

Nitte University in collaboration with the Ilesa - Voice of Ocean hosted a grand cultural event, Tulu Dina 2024, on 28th September 2024 at the Sambhram Hall, NMAM Institute of Technology, to celebrate Tulu language and the region's rich cultural heritage.

The highlight of this year's event was the handing over of the ‘Amrita Nempu’ manuscript written by Prof. Amrutha Someshwara, a well-known Tulu writer and folklorist, to Nitte DU. A special presentation of Ilesa Koraga song was also featured, unveiling the beauty of tribal music from the Koraga community.

Presiding over the function, Prof. (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice President (ISR & CRL) explained the rich culture of Tulunadu and the richness of the Tulu Language. Esteemed poet & retired professor, Dr. Chethan Someshwara, son of Prof. Amrutha Someshwara graced the occasion as the chief guest and shared his personal experiences as a writer.

The notable music director Shri V Manohar and Prof. (Dr) Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education) were the guests of honor. They shared their opinion on the Tulu community, Tulu Language and the richness of culture.
