COSMOS Space Robotics Club Secures Second Place at National-Level Drone Competition

The COSMOS – Space Robotics Club of NMIT achieved a significant milestone by securing Second Place at the National Level Drone Competition 2026, held as part of Vadiva’s Tech & Design Fest ’26.The prestigious two-day event took place on January 10–11, 2026, at the Velammal Bodhi Campus, Ponneri, Chennai, and was organized by the Institute of Aeronautics, Astronautics & Aviation.Representing NMIT, the COSMOS team comprising Thejus, Vishwas, Smaran and Vaishnavi demonstrated exceptional technical proficiency, innovation-driven problem-solving, hands-on engineering skills and strong teamwork while competing against teams from institutions across the country.This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it marks the maiden national-level participation of the COSMOS club. The success reflects NMIT’s strong emphasis on experiential learning, robotics research, interdisciplinary innovation and industry-relevant skill development, under the guidance of mentors from the Centre for Robotics Research and the Co-Innovation Centre at NMIT, Bengaluru.
