These facilities are now accessible to external users including faculty, researchers, startups, industry professionals, and students through the I-STEM (Indian Science, Technology, and Engineering facilities Map) Portal, a national platform initiated by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. By participating in this initiative, NMIT aims to foster collaborative research, encourage innovation, and ensure the efficient utilization of scientific infrastructure to advance knowledge and industrial development.

The research centres and laboratories at the University are equipped to handle a wide range of experimental and analytical work. The Multidisciplinary Unit Research and Technology Innovation (IDEA) Lab’s act as a central hub for interdisciplinary research, housing advanced instruments like SEM, XRD, 3D printers, advanced CNC machines, and more. These facilities are operated by skilled technical staff and are now open to researchers, industry professionals, and other external users.
