NitteOn is the flagship community-run initiative of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in Bengaluru, created to promote fitness, social awareness and meaningful community engagement. As part of NMIT’s 25 Year Milestone of Academic Excellence, NitteOn reflects the institution’s commitment to leadership, innovation and social responsibility beyond the classroom.

Each year, NitteOn is built around a focused social theme that amplifies impact and encourages collective action. The 2026 edition is presented as Run for Her, a special Women’s Day aligned initiative dedicated to championing women’s empowerment, safety and equal opportunity.

NitteOn brings together students, alumni, corporate partners and the wider Bengaluru community on a unified platform that blends health, awareness and advocacy. It strengthens NMIT's legacy as an institution that not only educates but also inspires positive change.

Rules & Regulations

Please read carefully before registering

General Rules

✓All registrations for NitteOn are strictly non-transferable and transfer of registration from one participant to another is not permitted under any circumstances.
✓If a registered participant is unable to participate, they may request a transfer of their registration to another race within the NitteOn race calendar for the same season.
✓Such requests must be submitted via email at least 20 days before the event date and will be processed subject to payment of a transfer fee of INR 250 along with any applicable difference in registration fee.
✓Cancellation of registration and refund of the registration fee will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Entry Confirmation

✓All applications for NitteOn will be reviewed in accordance with the Entry Rules and Guidelines outlined on the website.
✓After registrations close, confirmation emails will be sent to participants who have provided a valid email address in the application form.
✓Physical confirmation letters will be sent only to those who have not provided an email address. If you do not receive any communication from us, please write to us at nitteon@nitte.edu.in

Registration Status

✓Upon successful submission of the application, registrants will receive a confirmation email containing a unique registration code for their reference. Following the closure of registrations, participants will be notified via email and SMS with their assigned BIB number and other relevant event details.

Winners

✓A victory ceremony will be conducted on race day, during which trophies will be presented to the winners. Provisional results will be published on the official website and social media platforms on race day. Final rankings and results will be announced on the website within 7 to 10 days after the event, following due verification.
✓Prize money will be disbursed within 60 days from the date of the event, provided the winner holds a valid bank account in India. The organizers will contact winners across all categories within 30 days after race day to obtain the required bank account details for processing the prize amount.

Race Regulation

Participants are permitted to compete only in the race category for which they have applied and received confirmation. The entry, running number bib and bib tag are strictly non-transferable and must not be exchanged under any circumstances. Any participant found interchanging their bib or bib tag with another individual will be disqualified from the event and will not be permitted to apply for or participate in future editions of NitteOn or any associated events across the country.

✓The organizers reserve the right to disqualify or exclude any participant who provides incorrect personal information in the application form, has been banned from competition under recognized athletics regulations, or is suspected of using prohibited substances. No refund of the entry fee will be issued in such cases.
✓Participants must start the race at the official start time of their confirmed category. Runners who fail to do so will not receive an official result or timing certificate. Any tampering, alteration, folding, exchange, or damage to the bib or bib tag will result in disqualification. No chip, no timing and no prize money will be applicable under such circumstances. The bib must be clearly worn on the front of the vest at all times during the race.
✓Only confirmed participants wearing the official NitteOn running bib will be allowed on the race route. Individuals without a valid bib or wearing an incorrect bib will be removed from the course by security personnel.
✓No wheeled vehicles are permitted on the course. Participants bringing wheeled devices will be disqualified and asked to leave the route. Running with pets, unregistered runners, or children who do not meet the minimum age requirement for the respective category is strictly prohibited. Gas balloons are not permitted inside the event venue.
✓To facilitate the timely reopening of roads, designated cut-off times will be enforced at specific points along the route. Participants who fail to reach these points within the specified time must move to the footpath to complete their run. The organizers reserve the right to stop any participant who is deemed medically unfit to continue, as advised by the on-site medical team.
✓Baggage counters will be available exclusively for registered participants. Participants are encouraged to avoid carrying baggage where possible. It is strongly advised not to leave valuables such as mobile phones, cameras, jewelry, watches, or electronic devices in deposited bags. The organizers will not be responsible for any loss of baggage or personal belongings.
✓Participants are required to cooperate with police and security personnel deployed at the venue and along the route. Random security checks may be conducted on race day in the interest of participant safety. Photographs and video recordings taken before and during the event may be used by the organizers for promotional and communication purposes.

Who can participate in the race?

The race is open for both men and women above 14+ can participate.

When is the NitteOn 2026 event? What are the timings?

NitteOn 2026 is being organized as part of NMIT’s under the theme Run for Her. The exact race date and start timings for each category will be communicated to registered participants via email and SMS prior to the event.

What is the cut-off time for the race category?

Designated cut-off timings will be enforced at specific points along the route to ensure timely reopening of roads. Participants who do not reach the checkpoints within the specified time will be required to move to the footpath and complete their run without an official timing.

What does the registration fee cover?

The registration fee includes:

Official Running Kit (Premium T-shirt, BIB number, Goodie Bag)
Finisher Medal (for participants who complete the race)
Timing Certificate (available for download one week after the event)

If I register under the Early Bird offer, will I get the same race kit as other participants?

Yes. All confirmed participants, including early bird registrants, will receive the same official race kit and entitlements.

Can I register manually (offline)?

Registrations are accepted through the official registration process as announced by the organizers. Participants are advised to complete their registration online through the official platform.

Is there a minimum/maximum age for participants?

The minimum age to participate in any race category is 16 years. There is no upper age limit, provided the participant is medically fit to run.

What is the last date of registration?

The last date of registration will be announced on the official event website and communication channels. Registrations may close earlier if slots are filled.

Can I transfer or cancel my registration? Will there be any refund?

Registrations are non-transferable to another person.
Cancellation and refund are not permitted under any circumstances.

Can I change the category after registration?

Category changes may be requested at least 20 days before the event via email, subject to approval and payment of ₹250 transfer fee plus any applicable fee difference.

Can I change the category on race day?

No. Category changes are strictly not permitted on race day.

I made a mistake in my registration form. How do I correct it?

Participants should immediately email the organizers at nitteon@nitte.edu.in with their registration details and correction requests.

I was charged, but I did not receive a confirmation email. What should I do?

If you do not receive a confirmation email after successful payment, please contact the organizers at nitteon@nitte.edu.in with your transaction details for assistance.

Cancellation Policy

All registrations are final. No cancellations or refunds will be entertained under any circumstances.

What happens if I do not start or finish the race?

Participants who do not start or complete their run will not receive a Finisher Medal, official timing, or certificate.
