The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bengaluru, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, organised an insightful workshop titled “Venture Capital: Catalyzing Growth for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs.” The session was conducted by Dr. Pavankumar G. Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, NMIT. The two-hour workshop aimed to familiarise budding entrepreneurs with the dynamics of venture capital funding and its role in scaling early-stage ventures. Participants gained a clear understanding of the venture capital lifecycle, funding stages and investor expectations. They were also introduced to the nuances of developing sustainable business models, crafting precise financial projections and designing persuasive pitch decks tailored to the needs of venture capitalists. Through engaging discussions, Dr. Kulkarni highlighted the distinctions between venture capital and other funding alternatives such as angel investment, crowdfunding and bank financing. The session equipped students with practical tools to evaluate funding options, build investor confidence and enhance the growth readiness of their entrepreneurial ideas. By the end of the session, participants expressed greater confidence in approaching investors, demonstrating improved awareness of funding strategies, and positioning their startups for long-term sustainability.
