Mr. Tsutomu Nakane, Consul-General, Embassy of Japan in Bengaluru visited the Nitte Off-Campus Centre of Nitte Deemed to be University on 2 March 2023. He inaugurated the newly established Nitte Japanese Techno-Cultural Center during the visit.
Sri. N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University presided over the function. Prof. (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. MS Moodithaya, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Nitte DU, Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Prof. Harikrishna Bhat, Director, International Collaborations, Mr. Cutinha Dolwin, Advisor, Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru were present during the occasion.
Teaching Japanese language and culture to Nitte students is one of the objectives of this Centre. It may be recalled here that Nitte has collaborations with Japanese organizations & universities for joint research, student & faculty exchange programs besides establishment of Centres of Excellence for Japanese companies in the campus. The establishment of the Nitte Japanese Techno-Cultural Center is aimed at strengthening the association between Japanese Industry and Academia.
Cultural performances depicting Tulu culture were performed by the students of NMAMIT soon after the stage function.
