Synergizing Teaching and Research Strategies for Faculty Success

The Department of Medical Imaging Technology, NIAHS, in association with the Staff Development Centre, Nitte DU and the Indian College of Radiological Technology (ICRT), organized a two-day Faculty Development Program on “Synergizing Teaching and Research Strategies for Faculty Success” on 23rd & 24th August 2025 at the MEU Hall, KSHEMA.

Mr. Shashi Kumar Shetty, Coordinator, MIT, NIAHS welcomed the gathering. Inaugurating the FDP on 23rd August 2025, Prof. (Dr) Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director, R&D, NitteDU highlighted the importance of effective teaching and research integration. Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty, Dean, NIAHS, presided over the event and encouraged the adoption innovative academic practices. Prof. Panneer Selvam, Registrar, ICRT; Prof. (Dr) U Raghuraj, HoD, Radiodiagnosis, KSHEMA and Mr. Rajiv Krishna, Vice President, ICRT were present at the inaugural function. Faculty, Mr. Jaseemudheen M.M. proposed the vote of thanks.

The academic sessions covered diverse themes. Dr. Farita N F Veigas, Associate Professor, St. Aloysius Deemed to be University delivered two sessions on Creating effective learning environments and Innovative teaching methods, followed by Dr. Venkatesh Kamath H, Asst. Professor, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, who discussed learning outcomes and competencies. Dr. Sudeep Ghate, Sr. Scientific Curation Specialist, EPAM Systems conducted sessions on indexed journals, citation metrics and research writing skills. The concluding sessions by NMAMIT faculty, Prof. (Dr) Venugopala P S and Mr. Prajwal Hegde N explored the role of artificial intelligence in teaching.

A total of 27 faculty members participated in the program.
