Overview

The placement department handles all aspects of campus placements for the graduating students at Dr. NSAM First Grade College. The department initiates several placement avenues and enhances prospects towards scouting activities. The placement wing provides employment opportunities to students through campus recruitments, pooled campus, and off-campus recruitments.

The placement process is initiated with a clear focus on students of different academic levels. All levels of the companies are contacted and invited for the campus recruitment drive which matches different academic levels of students. Branch-specific core companies are equally focused to ensure that our students obtain the right match of their passion and competency. The department is well-equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of the placement process. Arrangements for pre-placement talks, interviews, group discussions etc. are all handled by the staff at the office.

The Training & Placement Cell of Dr. NSAM First Grade College is the chief facilitator for the students to obtain placements best suited to them. The department primarily liaises between industry and the institute. The goal of the Training & Placement Cell is to provide world-class training to NSAM students. The cell has emerged as a favourite destination for many national and international organizations who visit the campus every year to recruit our talented and well-groomed students.

The Training & Placement Cell is dedicated to motivating and preparing the student community for the best placements. This is done by training students from the first year onwards focusing on communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, group discussions, and interview techniques. Additionally, the Cell also provides the required infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests, and interviews besides catering to other logistics. The database of the students is also managed by the cell, which helps to place the students in positions that best suit them.

Process

  • An official invite is sent to the companies, inviting them to visit Dr.N.S.A.M First Grade College and conduct campus recruitment.
  • Companies are requested to furnish entire details of the open position like Job title, description, eligibility criteria, salary structure, etc. which can be referred by the students.
  • A mutually convenient date is decided for the placement drive, which is communicated to students as well.
  • All students who are eligible for the campus placement drive are instructed to report at the college before the stipulated time and register their names.
  • The students are seated in the respective seminar hall/ auditorium notified for the pre–placement talks.
  • The company would first initiate the pre-placement talk wherein they provide a clear picture about the company, the current job position and benefits.
  • After the pre-placement talk, the companies would initiate the written test followed by group discussion or a series of interviews, technical and HR rounds etc.
  • After the completion of the selection process on-campus, most of the companies would announce the final list of selected students. Offer letters are rolled out to the selected students.

Training

Our training philosophy is to provide a range of relevant learning opportunities that support and develop students at different stages of their academics. Training students for corporate and other placements is a continuous process. Such inputs and competency-building exercises are offered alongside the regular courses. In order to execute this effectively, we collaborate with a range of industries and companies across various sectors. This helps in identify training needs, and also to design and facilitate training programs accordingly.

The department executes the training plan after recognizing the core competencies of students. The mentors consistently track the students’ performance to ensure improvement through periodic assessment tests. These periodic assessment tests aid students identify their areas of strength which they can upgrade further and their areas of improvement which they can focus on.

We have well-planned and structured modules on aptitude, technical skills development, and communication, along with personality development programs to prepare our students for a highly competitive future. The Institute provides world-class infrastructural facilities to conduct all required pre-placement and placement activities.

WORKSHOP ON “COMPETITIVE EXAMS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION”

The workshop is organized to guide the students on preparing for competitive exams, specifically focusing on the UPSC examination, and highlighting the significance of effective communication skills in achieving professional success. The session aimed to inspire students, providing them with actionable strategies and insights to excel in their academic and career pursuits.

INTERNSHIP WORKSHOP ON “INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY BY UGGISO INTERNATIONAL PVT. Ltd”

Representatives from UUGISO elaborated on their vision and the variety of opportunities their platform provides to students. This was followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring industry experts, including HR professionals and entrepreneurs, who spoke about current internship trends, in-demand skills, and the alignment of academic knowledge with industry requirements. UUGISO also showcased internship opportunities in various sectors, including IT, finance, marketing, and HR, guiding students on how to apply effectively for these roles.

5-Day Training Program on “AI / Cyber Security / Information Technology & Web Development Fundamentals” by MAGIC BUS – IBM

The training focused on enhancing participants' skills in AI Learning and Resume Building. Ms. Sai Nikitha, an experienced resource person with expertise in career development and AI-based learning, skilfully facilitated the program.

Workshop on “Resume Preparation & Grooming”

10-01-2024

The workshop aimed to enhance students' skills in crafting effective resumes and cultivating a professional image. The Resource Person Mr. Guruprasad's session on resume preparation covered key elements such as structure, content optimization, and customization for specific job roles. The subsequent segment on grooming and professional etiquette provided valuable insights into appropriate attire, body language, and effective communication. Interactive activities, including mock interviews and group discussions, allowed participants to apply the concepts learned.

PLACEMENT INTERVIEW AT NSOM – “SMART ED” Company

Multiple rounds of interviews, including HR, Technical, and Case Study rounds, assessed candidates' problem-solving, domain-specific expertise, communication, and general appropriateness for the positions. A detailed analysis of the pupils' academic achievement, pertinent abilities, extracurricular activities, and alignment were all part of the assessment criteria.
