NCC is a premier youth organization in our country. It aims to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the youth. A sense of patriotic commitment is also instilled to encourage cadets to contribute to national development.
Cadets are trained and raised to respect diversities in religion, language, culture, ethnicity, lifestyle and habitat to instill a sense of National unity and integrity.
Cadets learn to take pride in these values which strengthens the spirit of being an Indian. This helps them gear towards joining the forces and providing their 100% when the country is in need of them
The event marked the celebration of India’s 77th Independence Day, commemorating 76 years of freedom. The cadets displayed exemplary discipline and patriotism, making the celebration a memorable one. This year’s theme, “Nation First, Always First,” was part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative. The programme included patriotic activities, speeches, and reflections on the nation’s progress.
The day commemorated India's victory in the Kargil War of 1999 and honoured the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces in ousting Pakistani forces from the Kargil District of Ladakh. Students reflected on the sacrifices of the soldiers and their pivotal role in defending the nation. The programme contained tributes, discussions, and patriotic activities, instilling a deep sense of respect and patriotism.
The event aimed to raise awareness about drug abuse and the illegal drug trade, aligning with the United Nations mission. The day emphasized the 2023 theme, "People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention." Cadets engaged in discussions about prevention strategies and reducing the stigma associated with drug abuse. The event was a meaningful step towards promoting a healthier and drug-free society.
The event featured by Ms. P. Sankareeswari, a Yoga Therapy Specialist who served as the resource person. The programme highlighted the origins of yoga as an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice from India and its global recognition following its declaration by the UN in 2014. Participants engaged in various yoga asanas and discussions on the health benefits of yoga, promoting a sense of well-being and unity
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco consumption, which is a leading cause of various cancers and other serious diseases. The 2023 theme, "We need food, not tobacco," highlighted the need for sustainable and nutritious crops as alternatives to tobacco production. Participants were engaged in discussions and activities, promoting a tobacco-free lifestyle and the importance of healthier, sustainable agriculture
The college celebrated Republic Day on 26th January 2023 with great passion, involving 25 NCC cadets, 200 students, and faculty members. Advisor Dr. Shanti Iyer hoisted the National Flag in the presence of the Principal, Professor Raghavendra R. The cadets displayed great discipline and patriotism, making the celebration memorable.
The programme highlighted the significance of the Indian Army, one of the world’s most powerful forces, and its historical achievements. Cadets gained insights into this day's history, importance, and pride. The event successfully instilled respect and admiration for the nation’s armed forces.
In association with the Lions Club, the camp successfully collected 167 bottles of blood, with donors receiving certificates of appreciation from the dignitaries. The cadets and volunteers from the Department of Physical Education contributed significantly to the success of the event. Students also expressed pride and happiness in their contribution to this noble cause on National Youth Day.

71st Republic Day on January 26, 2020 was celebrated at Dr. N.S.A.M. FGC with utmost patriotic feelings by the students of the college and NCC cadets organized by NCC unit of the college. The celebration started with flag hoisting by Dr. R. Shanti Iyer, the Principal of the college, followed by national anthem. Principal in her talk mentioned about the need and importance of celebration of National festivals. Important points of the constitution of India were highlighted in the speech by Mr. JB Janardana, HoD of Language and Dr. HA Raghavendra, HoD of Commerce and Management. Cultural programs were performed by the students of the college. Programme was lead by Mr. Thirumalesh C, NCC Care Taker and Mr. Vinoda B.S, the Physical Education Director and other Staff members.
NSS Unit of Dr.N.S.A.M First Grade College participated in extending ‘Community Service’ on the occasion of Vaikutaekadhasi Festival at Rangasthala Temple, Bodhganahalli, Tippenahalli Gram Panchayat, Chikkaallapur (Tq), District on 05th & 6th January 2020. The NSS students extended their service in the form of cleaning the temple area and helping with the decoration work (inside and outside the temple) on the first day. On the second day they helped in distributing prasadam and drinking water and guided devotees for seeking darshnam. The students created awareness about the Swach Bharath Abhiyan by maintaining the temple premises clean and tidy.
Our NCC cadets Vanishree A from final year B.Com, Varsha H from final year B.B.A., Prashanth Kumar V and Thejas H N from second B.Com successfully completed the Combined Annual Training Camp at NMIT campus from 15th July to 24th July 2019. The training will help them to face NCC 'C' and 'B' certificate examinations confidently. As per the NCC norms, it is mandatory for the cadets to attend this camp.
In the month of June, from 4/06/2019 to 13/06/2019 and from 18/06/2019 to 27/06/2019 Prashanth Kumar V and Thejas H N attended TSC (Tal Sainik Camp) at Jalahalli Air Force Station and Tumkur.
