From Guidelines to Recovery: CME on Critical Care Nutrition

The CME on Critical Care Nutrition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Suma Ballal, Dy. Registrar, Nitte DU Mangalore campus; the Guests of Honour, Dr. Veena Shetty, Professor, Microbiology and Dr. Siral Hegde, Asst. Medical Superintendent and Prof. (Dr) Sumalatha R Shetty, Medical Superintendent.

A book on "Nourish and Grow", a guide for parents and caregivers on feeding infants and children and a Nutrition Guide for Pregnant and Lactating Mothers was released during the occasion. Dr. Spoorthy Holla, a faculty from the Dept. of Anesthesiology delivered the keynote address.

The scientific sessions covered ICU nutrition in the first week, nutrition in organ failure and feeding intolerance, and paediatric critical care nutrition. The program closed with a panel discussion on delivering adequate nutrition in resource-limited ICUs, which led to lively audience participation. A Poster Presentation Competition was held on the theme "Sahi Poshan, Desh Roshan”.
