INCISICON 2.0

Incīsiō, the Undergraduate Surgical Club of KS Hegde Medical Academy in collaboration with the Department of General Surgery, Simulation Centre and Surgical & Allied Departments, organized the undergraduate conference - INCISICON 2.0 on 18th July 2026. The conference brought together 205 undergraduate medical students from medical colleges across South India, providing a platform for academic exchange, surgical education and hands-on learning.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University; Prof. (Dr) M S Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr) Sumalatha R Shetty, Medical Superintendent, Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital; Prof. (Dr.) Sukanya Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA and Prof. (Dr) K R Bhagavan, HoD, General Surgery, KSHEMA.

Dr. K R Bhagavan emphasised the importance of making the most of the learning opportunities offered through the conference and developing a strong foundation in surgical knowledge and skills. The multidisciplinary collaboration between Incīsiō, the Department of General Surgery, the Simulation Centre and Surgical and Allied Departments further enriched the academic experience and strengthened the conference's focus on experiential and collaborative learning.
