“BEYOND THE SCOPE - Live Gynaec Endoscopy Workshop and CME”

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, KS Hegde Medical Academy in association with the Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (KIAGE) and Mangalore Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society (MOGS) conducted “BEYOND THE SCOPE - Live Gynaec Endoscopy Workshop and CME” on 22nd August 2026, at Justice KS Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte.

The workshop featured five live laparoscopic procedures performed by renowned experts Dr. Vidya Bhat, Dr. Janeshwari T.L., Dr. Rajesh Bhakta and Dr. Ravikanth G.O., with a live relay to Chintana Hall for 103 delegates. The afternoon academic sessions included talks on Energy Sources in Laparoscopy by Dr. Vidyashree Poojary, Fertility-Enhancing Hysteroscopy Surgery by Dr. Shaweez Faizi and Prevention of Complications in Laparoscopy by Dr. Neetha Nandan, followed by a panel discussion on “Laparoscopic Myomectomy: From Preoperative Planning to Postoperative Care,” moderated by Dr. Vidya Bhat and Dr. Rajesh Bhakta.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte DU with Dr. Sandeep Rai B, Dean, KSHEMA presiding and Prof. (Dr) Sumalatha R Shetty, Medical Superintendent, as Guest of Honour. Dr. Veena Bhagwan, Assoc. Professor, A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangaluru, served as the KMC Observer.

The program was awarded 2 CME credit points and was highly appreciated for its practical, interactive and enriching learning experience.
