Virtual Dissection Lab inaugurated at KS Hegde Medical Academy

A state-of-the-art Virtual Dissection Lab was inaugurated in the Department of Anatomy, KS Hegde Medical Academy on 12th March 2026 by Mr. Vishal Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University. The highlight of the laboratory is the Anatomage Table, an advanced, life-sized touchscreen 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection system, installed at an approximate cost of ₹1.45 crore. The system displays true-to-life three-dimensional human bodies, allowing users to virtually dissect, rotate and isolate anatomical structures to study anatomy in detail without the need for physical cadavers.

Regarded as one of the most advanced educational tools in medical education, the system provides an immersive and interactive learning experience for students of medicine and allied health sciences, thereby significantly enhancing anatomy teaching and learning.
