The Next Cut

The Next Cut, held on 7th February 2026 at Chintana Hall, II Floor, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, was an academic and alumni interaction program organized by Incīsiō, the Undergraduate General Surgery Club of KSHEMA. With over 100 registrations, the event successfully combined clinical learning with the celebration of leadership and legacy. It featured insightful sessions including ‘Postpartum Haemorrhage Management’ by Dr. Sharon Rasquinha and a significant Reconstitution Ceremony graced by Dr. Sukanya Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA, as the Chief Guest; Dr. Sumalatha R Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, as the Guest of Honour and Dr. K R Bhagavan, HoD, General Surgery. The founders formally handed over responsibilities to the newly appointed Presidents, followed by a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony and presentation of the club’s achievements and future plans. An engaging hands-on session on ‘Epistaxis Management’ by Dr. Anusha Shashidhara Shetty and an informative lecture on ‘Carcinoma of the Head of Pancreas’ by Dr. Vidya Bhat were part of the event. The program concluded with a networking lunch, fostering meaningful interaction between students and alumni, making it an engaging, interactive and memorable experience.
