“No goal is unreachable. Prepare the ground, take aim, and go for it.”
Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA) was envisioned by a core group of national and international experts and thinkers seeking to develop an innovative and vibrant, world-class institution of architecture and design. NIA has been on an exciting path of progress since its inception taking strength from its specialized curriculum, dedicated faculty, and talented students.
Education at NIA emphasizes integrated learning with a focus on sustainability. The course curriculum has been framed to help students develop the ability to design with a deep understanding of people, place, and natural systems. Innovative pedagogy forms the crux of the architecture program at NIA – the Foundation Studio incorporates hands-on work for understanding design fundamentals, Vertical Studio allows for interaction and peer-learning between students of different age groups, Summer School provides opportunities to learn various arts and crafts and develop an appreciation for them, Co-operative Learning program provides an experiential learning experience that is critical for professional development, and travel programs allow students to observe, understand and address real life issues.
Faculty forms the backbone of any institution. The faculty at NIA comprises a group of distinguished professionals who bring varied experiences and expertise to the table. Faculty members at NIA are encouraged to work on research and consultancy projects allowing for professional development that directly reflects on the learning environment they create for the students.
Our students are a group of energetic young minds who are passionate about architecture and design. Talented and ambitious, they have won several accolades for the college. Many of them have interned with nationally and internationally renowned firms. NIA will be producing its first batch of graduates in 2020. With the firm footing that they have gained through their education at NIA, it is only expected that they will go on to do great things.
