Unleashing Potential Through Global Education and Research (GEAR)

Nitte Institute of Professional Education (NIPE) in collaboration with the Office of International Relations, Nitte DU and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA hosted an insightful session on "Unleashing Potential Through Global Education and Research (GEAR)" on 8th January 2025 at NIPE’s Seminar Hall. The session featured Prof. Shivaprakash, Adjunct Professor from VCU School of Business, Richmond, Virginia, USA as the resource person.

Prof. Shivaprakash explored key themes such as emerging global education trends, skill development for a globalized economy, and the transformative potential of international research collaborations. He emphasized integrating advanced technologies, fostering cross-cultural exchange, and leveraging global partnerships to address critical global challenges. The session also showcased inspiring case studies of successful international collaborations, providing participants with actionable insights to build impactful academic and research initiatives. Dr. Syed Riyaz Ahammed, Dy.Director of International Relations, Nitte DU highlighted the university's vision of fostering international academic partnerships. Dr. K Vidyavathi and Dr. Asha Vijay T from the Research & Publication Cell emphasized the role of such initiatives in enhancing the research ecosystem.



NSS Camp

The NSS Annual Special Camp, organized by the NSS Unit of Nitte Institute of Professional Education (NIPE) from 27th December 2024 to 2nd January 2025 at Dr. MRSM English Medium School, Thokur focused on communicating the Sustainable Development Goals.

The camp included activities like yoga, Shramdaan (community service), awareness rallies and interactive sessions on spirituality, career development, climate action and public health. Prominent speakers and guests emphasized youth leadership, discipline and the importance of service in achieving societal progress. The volunteers engaged in environmental cleanup drives, cultural programs and competitions for school children, fostering creativity and community engagement. Key moments included a rally on breast cancer awareness, discussions on water conservation and workshops on digital literacy.

The camp culminated in a closing ceremony celebrating the volunteers' contributions, with awards for outstanding participants and reflections on the transformative experience.







Volleyball competition titled "Volleyfest"

The Sports Club of NIPE organized a Volleyball competition titled "Volleyfest" on 14th March 2024 at the college grounds. 4 teams representing the 4 houses of the college participated in the event. Under the captainship of Gowtham, Green house won the tournament. Mr. Rakshan Shetty, Student coordinator and Prof. Arwin Dsouza, Faculty coordinator organised the event.



Carrom Competition titled “PUCK Powerplay”

The Sports Club of NIPE organized a Carrom Competition titled “PUCK Powerplay ” on 5th & 6th March 2024 at the college . There were a total of 8 teams, with 2 members in each team. 4 teams from boys division and 4 teams from girls division participated in the competition.

The winners of the competition from the Boys Division were Thejas & Deekshit from Green house. The winners from the Girls Division were Ananya & Shreya from Yellow house.

Mr. Abhay was the student coordinator and Prof. Arwin Dsouza was the Faculty coordinator.



Badminton Tournament titled “ Smash Showdown”

The Sports Club of NIPE organized a Badminton Tournament titled “ Smash Showdown” from 21stto 23rd February, 2024 at the college grounds. The tournament was conducted under singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories.

Singles category (Boys) : Abhaychandra

Singles category (Girls) : Araha Shetty.


Doubles category (Boys) : Sanjith & Rithik

Doubles category (Girls) : Suraksha & Greeshma

Mixed doubles category: Deekshith & Ashitha.

The event was organised with the support of Mr. Hrishikesh & Mr. Mohammed Sami, Student coordinators under the guidance of Prof. Arwin Dsouza, Faculty coordinator.



Fashion Fiesta Fusion

The Music, Art & Culture Club of NIPE orchestrated a cultural extravaganza titled "Fashion Fiesta Fusion" on 9th February 2024. Students exhibited their talents through singing, dancing, instrument playing and group dancing. The event's highlight was the captivating Fashion Show where the theme was ‘Unity in Diversity’. Ms. Ananya from I BBA was the event's anchor, adding charm and vivacity to the proceedings. The competition saw students from I BBA emerging as the winners.

Prof. Dhanya from NIHS and Prof. Roma Nayak from NIPE were the judges. Student coordinators for the event were Kannika Maroli, Riya Ravi Kudtarkar and Mounika Santhosh Shetty. Faculty Coordinator for the event was Prof. Divyashree.



MCoding competition - Encode”

The Hackathon Club of NIPE conducted a coding competition - Encode for the first & second year students of BCA to enhance their programming skills to meet the industry-level standards. Two rounds of competition were conducted. The winners were: Pratheeksha and Nirmal from II BCA. Faculty coordinators who organised the event were Prof.Kishore S and Prof.Prav

Mehndi competition “Conquest Carnival” | 23rd January 2024

The Cultural Club of NIPE conducted a Mehndi competition titled “Conquest Carnival” for the students on 23rd January 2024 at the college campus.  Judging was based on parameters like creativity, design, time taken and overall appearance. Dr Asha Vijay and Dr Vidyavathi K, faculty were the judges of the competition. The event was coordinated by Riya Ravi Kudtarkar.
