Dr. Chef Dhiraj, a seasoned professional in the field of Hospitality and Hotel Administration, embarked on his journey in the culinary world after completing his BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, in the year 2003.

His career began in the heart of Kolkata, where he honed his culinary skills in the Kitchen Department of renowned establishments such as ITC Sonar Bangla and Sheraton Towers. In 2005, he seized the opportunity to expand his horizons by joining Princess Cruises, where he further enriched his culinary repertoire.

In 2006, Chef Dhiraj's quest for excellence led him to the breathtaking shores of the Cayman Islands, where he became an integral part of the culinary team at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman Island. After several years of international experience, he returned to his homeland in the latter part of 2008, where he made the pivotal decision to transition into the world of academics.

His academic journey commenced with roles at various esteemed institutions, including the Asia Pacific Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, IHMCU in Udaipur, and IIHM Delhi, where he served as a dedicated Lecturer in Food Production. In January 2013, with four years of invaluable teaching experience under his belt, he embraced the Head of the Department of Hotel Management role at GNA IMT in Phagwara, Punjab.

In 2011, Chef Dhiraj completed his MBA, adding a valuable business perspective to his culinary and academic expertise. Then, in 2023, he achieved a significant milestone by completing his Ph.D. in Business Management and commerce. As GNA University came into existence in 2014, Chef Dhiraj took the lead in establishing and managing a range of courses within the Faculty of Hospitality. Today, he serves as an Associate Professor & Principal at Nitte University, where his passion for teaching and commitment to culinary excellence continue to flourish.

With an impressive 20-year career that seamlessly blends seven years of industry experience with 13 years in academia, Chef Dhiraj has not only mastered culinary skills but also developed exemplary leadership qualities. His dedication to culinary arts and education is reflected in his portfolio of accomplishments, including the organization of three Food Festivals with IIHM Delhi and three Food Festivals at GNA University.

Additionally, Chef Dhiraj has authored 14 research papers, contributed to 3 book chapters, and published 1 edited book. His innovative contributions extend to holding 2 patents, further showcasing his commitment to advancing culinary arts and education. Chef Dhiraj's journey is a testament to his unwavering passion for the culinary arts and his relentless pursuit of excellence in industry and academia.
