Kalajna 2023

The National Level Cultural & Literary Fest 'Kalajna', organized by NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was held on 2nd & 3rd February 2023.
Kalajna was open to all pharmacy colleges throughout India and served as a platform for the pharmacy students to showcase their talents. A total of 612 participants from 20 colleges across various states took part in the 2-day event.
Day 1 began with the Inauguration Ceremony at 9:30 am. Shri N Vinaya Hegde, Hon'ble Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), graced the occasion and officially inaugurated the event. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Dr. MS Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Dr. Prasad B Shetty, CoE, Dr. Srinikethan, President - IIC, Nitte DU were the esteemed guests for the event. The welcome address was given by Dr. CS Shastry, Principal, NGSMIPS, followed by the Vice Chancellor's address.
The Championship and Runners-up Trophy was unveiled by the Hon'ble Chancellor who later addressed the gathering. The inauguration ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal, Dr. R Narayana Charyulu.
Following the inauguration, began a plethora of events, which took place in various venues at the Paneer Campus. Cultural events such as Folk dance, Classical dance, MAD AD, western and eastern singing among others were held at the main stage in Paneer grounds.
Literary & Art events such as poem writing, story writing, face painting etc. was held in different classrooms of the Pharmacy College while SpellBee competition took place at the University Auditorium, Paneer.
The vogue-fashion show was held in the evening and 8 teams from 8 colleges showcased their talents and creativity and walked the ramp with various artistic themes. Clash of Bands marked the last event for Day 1 and 7 bands performed at the event with amazing style and enchanted the audience with their performance.
Day 2 began with Quiz which was held at the Main Stage followed by 'Just a minute' (JAM) Competition, Western Dance and Dance face off. Other events such as sketching, face painting, vlog making and photography took place at different locations at the Pharmacy College.
The Valedictory Ceremony began at 3:30 pm and was presided over by Dr. MS Moodithaya, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nitte DU. The winners of various events were awarded at the Prize distribution ceremony. Principal Dr. Shastry addressed the gathering, followed by an announcement of The Overall Champions and Runners up.
The Runners up Trophy was shared by Shree Devi College of Pharmacy and Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy.
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal was crowned the Overall Champion of Kalajna 2023 with a cash prize of Rs.75,000.
Following the Valedictory ceremony, The ProNite took place from 6:30 pm at the Paneer Grounds. ProNite was open to students of all colleges across India. DJ Carnivore who with his energy and enthusiasm, made the event a memorable one.
The active participation and involvement of students of various colleges across the country as well as months of hard work and dedication by the Organizing Committee made Kalajna 2023, a grand success and a spectacular extravaganza.
