Mentoring session on Prototype Validation - Converting Innovation into a Start-up and Raising capital and managing finance for a Start-up

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), NGSMIPS organized a mentoring session on “Prototype Validation – Converting Innovation into a Start-up and Raising Capital and Managing Finance for Start-ups” on 20th August 2025 at the Seminar Hall.

The event was graced by Dr. Nidhisha H, Asst. Professor, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte as Chief Guest and Dr. Nesara Kadanakuppe, Assoc. Prof., Nitte Institute of Communication as Guest of Honour. Dr. Marina Koland, Principal, NGSMIPS presided over the event.

Session 1: Focused on prototype validation, scalability, market readiness and the role of mentorship and incubation. Session 2: Covered strategies for raising capital and managing start-up finances, including angel investment, venture capital, government schemes, risk management and compliance.

The program saw active participation of 75 students, faculty and research scholars, who appreciated the practical insights and interactive discussions. The event enhanced the entrepreneurial mindset of participants, boosted confidence in innovation and finance management, and aligned with IIC’s vision of fostering start-up culture.
