Department of Pharmacy Practice

The Department of Pharmacy Practice gives students the knowledge and skills to provide drug therapy toward improving patient health. The program’s curriculum offers Active Learning and Case-based studies (CBS) which include tutorials, lectures, labs, and practical experience in various settings. The Patient Counselling department is a part of this program where the students get a practical experience and knowledge on providing most efficient drug therapy to patients with minimal adverse effects. The students could work as a pharmacist in a community or hospital setting, using their counselling skills and drug knowledge to educate patients and promote their health or could also take a position that involves consulting or policy advising.

The students are pursuing various projects in the area of patient Counseling and Education for Anemia in Pregnancy and Hemodialysis patients, Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring for Cancer and TB patients, Assessment of Drug-Drug Interactions for monitoring Cancer patients and Treatment Cost analysis for Hemodialysis and Diabetes patients.
