NCOPS Principal Invited as Guest Speaker at National Pharmacovigilance Week

Nitte College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NCOPS) is proud to announce that Dr. V. Kusum Devi, Principal, was invited as a guest speaker at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital, Chikkaballapura, during the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week held from 17th to 23rd September 2025.

Addressing the national theme “Your Safety, Just a Click Away Report to PvPI” Dr. Kusum Devi delivered a session on “How Excipients Impact and Shape Drug Effectiveness Representative Case Studies.” She highlighted that adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are not always caused by the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) alone, but may also result from drug excipients. This vital point underscores the need for caution when switching brands of the same active ingredient.

Her insightful talk encouraged students and healthcare professionals to actively participate in strengthening India’s pharmacovigilance system, reinforcing the importance of patient safety in clinical practice.
