The Nitte College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, visited Sri Sathya Sai Sarala Memorial Hospital to discuss various initiatives aimed at enhancing the clinical and practical education of pharmacy students. These initiatives include Practice School, where students will train in Pharmacovigilance and case report preparation, and Exposureship, providing hands-on experience in different hospital departments. Through Internships, students will further develop their clinical skills. Students will actively participate in Health Camps and Health Awareness programs, promoting public education and preventive healthcare. Additionally, Gap Analysis will be conducted to identify and address gaps between curriculum and practice in pharmacy education. Practical training in Pharmacy Practice will focus on medication history review, identifying medication errors, and pharmaceutical interventions. Students will also receive exposure to Pathophysiology, Hospital Pharmacy, and Cost-effective Medicine and Formulations. They will also use clinical software like Medscape to study Drug Interactions, preparing them for real-world pharmacy practice. The Animal House and analytical facilities at NCOPS provide comprehensive support for pharmacology, toxicology, quality control testing, and advanced research in formulation development.
