The session was graced
by Dr. Agalya V, Professor and Associate head R&D, IPR cell, Innovation
Ambassador, IIC President at New Horizon College of Engineering. Dr. Agalya
elaborated on all the steps involved in the process of transforming an idea into
a viable startup, emphasizing the importance of protecting one's intellectual
property.
During the session,
students presented their innovative ideas from a pool of over 30 ideas that had
previously undergone scrutiny by Dr. Kusum Devi, Principal, NCOPS, Dr. Hemanth,
Mechanical Engineer, Innovation and Project Development Centre, NMIT, and Dr.
Sudheer Reddy, Professor and Dean (International Relations), NMIT. After the
scrutiny, 5 to 6 ideas were selected, nurtured over a period of one month and
presented during this session according to their guidance and suggestions. Dr.
Kusum Devi and Dr. Agalya provided valuable feedback and suggestions for
nurturing these ideas further.
Although the IIC has been
registering numerous ideas on the Yukthi portal, NCOPS desires to take it to
the next level by safeguarding these ideas using intellectual property rights,
and session provided valuable guidance on the next steps, bridging the existing
gap. Additionally, interactive games were conducted to stimulate innovative
thinking among the participants.
Overall, the session was
a comprehensive exploration of the entrepreneurial journey, from idea
conception to the establishment of a successful startup, and provided students
with practical insights and tools to navigate this process effectively.
