The main difference between a B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) and a pharmacy degree, such as a PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy), lies in the depth of education and the resulting scope of practice. A B.Pharm is an undergraduate degree program that typically spans four years and focuses on foundational knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences, drug formulation, and prescription On the other hand, a pharmacy degree like PharmD is a professional doctorate that requires six to eight years of study and includes an extensive curriculum covering clinical coursework, experiential rotations, and patient-centered training.

 While graduates with a B.Pharm degree are equipped to work as pharmacists in community or hospital settings, primarily focusing on dispensing medications and providing medication counseling, PharmD graduates have an expanded scope of practice  PharmD professionals receive comprehensive training in clinical pharmacy, enabling them to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, make drug therapy recommendations, conduct medication reviews, and actively participate in patient care.
