Executive Development Program (aligned with UN SDG 3, 4)

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing of NUINS organised an Executive Development Program on “Protecting Mothers, Nourishing Newborns: Hands-on Training in PPH Management and Breastfeeding Techniques” on 24th February 2026, at NUINS Learning Centre. The program was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 - Good Health and Well-being and SDG Goal 4 - Quality Education and also reflected the World Health Organisation theme for 2025-26: “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Future.”

Ms Keerthimala K, Lecturer, OBG Nursing welcomed the gathering. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. (Dr) Sabitha Nayak.

Chief Guest Prof. (Dr) Vijaya M Revankar, Unit Head, OBG, K S Hegde Medical Academy delivered a session on 'Overview of Postpartum Haemorrhage Management', emphasising timely identification, evidence-based interventions and multidisciplinary teamwork in preventing maternal morbidity and mortality.

Prof. Sabitha Nayak, conducted the second session on the importance of 'Breastfeeding and Breastfeeding Techniques', followed by a live demonstration highlighting correct positioning, latching techniques and counselling strategies.

Ms Keerthimala K conducted a session on 'Simulation in Postpartum Haemorrhage Management', focusing on skill development, decision-making and emergency preparedness through simulation-based learning.
