Department of Prosthodontics is one of the largest departments in the country in the field of Prosthodontics comprising of 18 Teaching Faculty with Post Graduate qualification. Keeping abreast with current trends and advances, clinical and Laboratory facilities like CAD/CAM, Fully Adjustable Articulator, Laser Welding Machine and T – Scan are made available. It also houses TMJ clinic dedicated to treating patients related to Temperomandibular disorders and CAD/CAM clinic with Intra Oral Scanner to facilitate enhanced speed and quality of treatment. In collaboration with Department of Implantology, wide range of treatment options in replacing missing teeth with Implant Supported Prosthesis is made available. Department also established itself as centre for renowned interest in the field of occlusion & TMJ, Cosmetic Dentistry, Full mouth rehabilitation, Implant supported Prosthesis and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics

Community extension Programme:
Department is committed to Rural Dental Health Programme by conducting one day free denture camp for completely edentulous geriatric patients in the rural areas. So far 73 one day complete denture camps have been conducted benefitting 2943 patients.
Achievements
Govt. of Karnataka, Department of Family and Welfare services in association with National Health Mission and National Oral Programme recognized Department of Prosthodontics, A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Deralakatte for its outstanding performance in executing Danta Bhagya Yojane Scheme and presented award for best performance. Under this scheme 28 single day free Denture camps were conducted 850 edentulous patients were treated with complete denture Prosthesis.
