A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences conducted the orientation program for the 36th batch of MDS students on 8th August 2025 at Avishkar Auditorium.

The event commenced with an invocation by Dr. Subiksha, PG, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Prof. (Dr.) Mithra N Hegde, Principal welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of research during postgraduate studies. She highlighted the various facilities available to students at Nitte University and the achievements of ABSMIDS over the years.

This was followed by self-introductions from all the postgraduate students of the 36th MDS batch, showcasing their diverse backgrounds from across India. Prof. (Dr) Shantharam Shetty delivered the presidential address, congratulating the freshers on gaining admission to one of the country’s premier institutes.

Prof. (Dr) M S Ravi, Vice Principal, delivered the vote of thanks and the program concluded with the rendering of the national anthem.
