State-Level EDP on Research and Data Analysis Using jamovi

The Department of Child Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS), organised a one-day Executive Development Programme (EDP) and State-Level Workshop titled “From Search to Stats: Mastering Literature Review Skills with jamovi - Hands-on” on November 17th November 2025, at the NUINS Learning Centre, Paneer Campus.

The workshop saw active participation from 76 attendees, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty members and PhD scholars. The program began with participant registration and a pre-test, followed by a formal inauguration and lamp-lighting ceremony. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr) Sujatha R, followed by an introduction of the resource persons by Dr. Sharlet Dsouza. Prof. (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS, appreciated the department for organising a workshop aimed at strengthening research competencies among students and scholars.

The technical sessions included expert inputs from Prof. Remya U R, who demonstrated effective database search techniques and referencing methods; Dr. Neevan Dsouza, who explained the fundamentals and practical applications of jamovi and Ms. Yashashwini, who facilitated hands-on training on data entry, data management and statistical analysis. The workshop enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in literature review and data analysis, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Supreetha and the compering was done by Ms. Dipthi Punja.
