First Aid and Emergency Training Program

The NSS Unit of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS) conducted a “First Aid and Emergency Training Program”, for the NSS volunteers of Dr. NSAM PU College, Nanthoor, Mangalore on 29th August 2025 at NU-MEDISIM. Chief guest, Dr. Naveen Shetty K, Principal, Dr. NSAM PU College, highlighted the role of NSS in the holistic development of students. The sessions covered essential topics such as bandaging techniques, first aid for seizures & unconsciousness, management of electrical shock & haemorrhage and emergency protocols for choking, drowning and CPR. The participants were divided into smaller groups and practical skill-based sessions with hands-on demonstrations were conducted at various skill stations, ensuring active participation and individual learning. The training was facilitated by resource persons - Mr. Sukesh Shetty, Ms. Jeevitha Alva, Mr. Basavaraj, and Ms. Deepthi Poonja from NUINS.
